I love playing and teaching violin and can't wait to share my passion with you!

I tailor my approach to each student. Some students require more technical work, some require interpretive. Both are fascinating and can be taught with structure and clarity.

Thomas is honestly an amazing musician and teacher. He was really patient with me. Despite having to deal with major timezone differences (as I live in Myanmar), he took the time to figure it out. Also, he helped me figure out the stuff it took me months to figure out. He also really knows what he's doing. I learned so much in that hour of practice. 10/10 would recommend him.

Ever wanted to play the violin but never had the chance to? Been struggling to keep up? Your time is precious. My teaching philosophy is not to spoon-feed you my knowledge. Instead, I will go out of my way to help you open the doors and show you the ways for you to walk your own path. And I will be here for you on every step of your way. About Strauss

I've enjoyed teaching my students of all levels from 7 to 35 to 75! Your age has absolutely no correlations to your level of determination and hard work. I am a 44 yo violin beginner student who has had 5 teachers in the last 6 years, I didn’t learn much with them, this been said, with Peter in just 3 months I feel I have learned more than my other teachers. Peter is so, so patient and extremely professional. I am very pleased to have found such a wonderful teacher."

"We've had our daughters learning violin for several years in a number of cities (Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and now Los Angeles). Nicks ranks among the best instructors we have had. From our experience, it is clear that he is a highly talented musician with strong leadership experience. He has high expectations but importantly, he combines this with patience and empathy which is perfect for working with our youngest who is an intermediate beginner as well as our oldest who is a bit more advanced and has been been playing in an orchestra for a number of years. We highly recommend Nick as an instructor for students of all ages and skill levels."
