I started taking drum lessons at age 22 so I felt too old to begin learning how to play a new instrument. I'm so glad that Dennis was my teacher. He gave me confidence and encouragement to become the great drum player I am today. His methods of teaching are well rounded, his lesson plans are efficient and since day one he guaranteed I would be ready to play songs with a band in only 6 months. Indeed I started playing with several bands after 6 months of having lessons with Dennis. I highly recommend him as a drum teacher and mentor!

V patient w/beginners and provided excellent tips and encouragement. Would recommend to anyone starting out on drums or adding another instrument to their repertoire. Provided great insight that also helped in cross-training, if already playing another instrument.

Learn to play the drums quickly!!!!

About Michael
I have many years experience as a working musician, combining: Private drum instruction, freelance studio work, and collaboration with musicians and bandmates in both a live and studio setting.

I have been a member of solid Metropolitan Detroit bands, most notably including: Friends of the Family, Night Train, and The Mobius Loop. I have been blessed with many great opportunities, most notably supporting national acts, such as: The Headhunters, Melvin Seals, Mofro and Strange Folk. And, I have recorded at excellent Metropolitan Detroit studios, including: Studio N Armada, Riff Lab Studios, Woodshed Studios and The Disc. Most recently, I participated in two separate studio/recording projects, with producer/multi-instrumentalist Joshua Michael Ackermann, and with producer/sound engineer Dan Lesnick. Along with teaching drum lessons, I
love to supplement my income with this type of studio work. I am also presently collaborating on original material, with a newly formed rock band, yet to be named. I am very excited about this and hope to get in the studio and to be gigging, in the near future!

I am looking to add dedicated students to my current roster. I took private instruction, studying under two EXCELLENT drummers from the Detroit Metro area: Darryl Pierce and Donny Gruendler. Mr. Pierce (among many other accomplishments) currently tours internationally and nationally with a well known artist by the name of Bettye LaVette. This group has made frequent television appearances, including: David Letterman and Austin City Limits. Mr. Gruendler, is currently the Vice President of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, and he has been featured in several Modern Drummer publications.

I have learned a great deal through private instruction, and therefore teach from experience. I utilize and apply many of the techniques that I personally found useful; through my own private instruction. References from teachers, students, producers, and bandmates can be provided on request.

I can teach ROCK drumming and Percussion techniques. As a Composer and Professional Musician (guitar/saxophone) I also have a comprehensive understanding of poly-rhythmic studies and phrasing.

About Benjamin
Hello Future Students!

I recently moved to Detroit from Ypsilanti. Before that I was in NYC for 10 years and during the '90s I was in Chicago. Those experiences vastly helped me develop Networking, Performance and Teaching experience.

Whether you want to pursue a Musical Career or simply learn how to Play your Favorite Tunes for friends and family, I am here as your Teacher and Guide. I teach at my own home or through the use of Skype. I hope to get my Car fixed soon!

As a Father of four, I have had the joy in teaching my children Guitar, Saxophone, Songwriting, Composition and Keyboard. As a parent I have found that Patience and Encouragement is sometimes the best form of support. It has been proven that learning Music helps develop intuition, self-awareness, and social skills as well as improve in other subjects not directly
related to the arts such as Mathematics and Science.

One of the most important aspects of playing Music is being able to Play by Ear. This has been a priceless gift that I have developed throughout my life and I encourage all musicians, young and old, to do the same. The use of simple Rhythmic Dictation and Ear Training exercises can do wonders for "picking out" Beats and Harmonies no matter what Genre we are interested in.

I attended music courses at The Boston School of Contemporary Music, Thomas Jefferson College (MI), and have a BA double majoring in Music Composition and English at Columbia College Chicago.

Besides touring internationally as a Guitarist and Saxophonist, I am a Songwriter. THIRD BORDER's "Sun of Water; Sea of Light" was selected to be nominated for the Grammy's as The Best Alternative Album of the Year in 2006. On this record, I played Guitar, Saxophone, sang Lead Vocal and wrote all Songs. So, if you are a songwriter, we can polish up your approach!

If you would like to learn how to compose a Solo, a Duet or Ensemble, I can get you started in a low-stress, one-step-at-a-time procedure. As a Composer, I have done Sound Design for Film, Dance, Spoken Word and Multi-media Performance - most notably with renowned poet Anne Carson and former members of The Merce Cunningham Dance Co. I am Composer and Conductor for New York City's first full-on Saxophone Orchestra; a 13-member ensemble.

I hope to talk to you soon!
Benjamin

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is relaxed with a forte on Patience and Encouragement. Though I have specific expectations on what needs to be learned, I gear each lesson towards the student's wishes and their personal direction in Creativity. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I can guide you wherever you are headed!

For Guitar (acoustic or electric), you will learn the fundamentals of Music Theory, Chord Structure, varied Strumming and Picking Techniques, and Scale Positions to travel from one part of the neck to the other. Any song you wish to learn, I can teach!

For Saxophone, you will learn proper Embouchure technique, Notation, Music Theory, and Scale Patterns for improvisation. Whether you are interested in a Classical, Blues, Funk or Jazz approach, I can help you find your own sound that is both personal and professional.

I teach 2nd year Piano and Drums/Percussion directing you into Intermediate level.

For those leaning toward the experimental genres, I am well-versed in the use of Electronics. Much can be accomplished with my lessons on Sound-Scape Improvisation either as 1 on 1 or Group Workshops.

*** Studio Equipment ***
At Home Studio: music stands, metronome, guitar amps, electric and acoustic guitars, guitar tablature, staff music paper, a scanner for weekly homework. I can also record and send MP3s of our lessons to review at home if you wish.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students will need their own instrument, a mutually chosen music book to learn from, a metronome, and hopefully easy access to a keyboard (very helpful!)

*** Specialties ***
I am fluent in Rock genres, Blues, Beginning Jazz, Beginning Classical technique, Prepared Guitar, Electronics/Sound Art.

Teaching students how to play with bands and read music are both important. I've played over 27 years and taught over 17 of those years. Grooves, coordination, reading and soloing are all aspects of what I teach from mostly my own books. I combine having fun with the commitment of practicing into a well rounded learning experience. I have recitals for students to show off their talents 1-2 times yearly. I'm versatile in teaching new drummers or advanced students. I look forward to our lessons.

About Danny
I've played drums over 28 years and taught lessons over 18 of those years. I have a background in Drumset soloing, marching band, rock bands and Troopers drum corps. Also playing in jazz, concert and orchestra bands gave me opportunity to perform and compete many places including P.A.S., scoring a 1 @ state and G.C. drum off. I took private lessons for a few years before leaving to college in Hollywood, CA, attending M.I.(Musicians Institute). With one of my instructors becoming the current drummer for Korn, "Ray Luzier". I now teach mostly out of my own books on how to read music, coordination, grooves, soloing and playing with bands. I have 1-2 recitals each year and prefer in-person lessons. If you are not local, I offer online lessons too. Accepting beginner to advanced drummers, come check it out.

I highly recommend Danny as a drum teacher.

Ayman is an amazing drum teacher! He not only touches on how to read music notation but also gives you the freedom to incorporate your own sense of style in your drumming. He knows the mechanics when it comes to being technical but also on how to feel the music. He has a great passion for this art form, and if you are also passionate as a student, only good will come from taking his lessons!!

I have been a professional drummer in Chicago for the last 5 years and have played in just about every type and size of venue, and played just about every style of contemporary music. I Received my BA of Music in 2015 for drumset from Columbia College and taught at School of Rock for over a year as well.
my teaching style depends entirely on how seriously you want to take learning the instrument. if your a beginner I can help you set up rock solid foundations for a professional career, if your intermediate to advanced I can teach you how to fill in holes in your playing and how to practice more efficiently. a lot of my approach comes from mental perspective on playing,. "the mental game" as I like to call it, is where your mind is at while performing, and is as important as practice and technique and know- how. Many drummers I see are kept from sounding the best they can at jam sessions or in performances despite having developed great technique and knowledge, by simply not being on

I can break down the fundamentals of drumming and show you how to construct simple to complex beats that will fit any musical opportunity thrown your way!

About Adrian
A great teacher or mentor or even friend can help shape one's life. I have had the great privilege to have been taught by some of the best and brightest musicians around the world and know first hand how mentors can awe one with infinite possibilities and opportunities that await in the world of sound. I only aim to give back some of this magic, and keep this wonder alive and spreading among everyone.

I have been playing guitar since I was 11 years old, producing music since I was 12 years old and have been actively involved in the recording and live music scenes of Las Vegas since the age of 14. I attended the Las Vegas Academy as a Guitar Major and recently graduated with my Associates of Business degree from CSN. I'm now 20 years old, and although that may seem young, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge that I would absolut
ely love to share with you. I can teach anything from guitar, bass, vocals, drums, some beginner piano, music theory, production and so much more.

To learn something, you must become obsessed with the craft- I've been obsessed with this craft since before my mind could even conceive what I was hearing! What better way to learn is there than to jump straight into the madness with someone (yours truly) who is already obsessed and constantly learning new things about all music and sounds?!

Let me help you realize and actualize the musical potential that you never knew you had!
