I've taught people who were just beginning violin (both children and adults) to students who were working on major concertos. What is most important to me as a teacher is that the student connect with the music and their instrument by being creative and personalizing my approach for the student. I also strongly strive to make performers out of violinists and to help them engage both audiences and themselves.

About Ha-eun
I have been surrounded by music my whole life and have played violin for 17 years. I went to high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, obtained a BM in violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory and an MM at the Boston Conservatory. I have won competitions, played in professional orchestra gigs, performed with college faculty, soloed with orchestras, and won the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artists Award.

I have completed a pedagogy course in college and at the graduate level. I have taught children, teens, and adults alike. I had the fortune of studying with wonderful teachers and strive to be like them and pass on their wisdom.

I am passionate about teaching out of a desire to help people express themselves and appreciate music on a deeper level. I am very enthusiastic and adapt my approach to each student's level, personality, and n
eeds while seeking to build a good rapport. I make creative analogies to keep them engaged. I am positive while critiquing because I believe negativity is counterintuitive to effective learning. I have experience working with elementary school kids, having spent three years employed at a Boys and Girls Club.

Just as I believe in culturing love of music in children, I truly enjoy working with older and more experienced students. I am very eager to help them develop their musicality and good technique. I have an extensive repertoire list and thus am able to aid students in learning challenging music such as show pieces and concertos.

I predominantly teach classical music but have helped students in other music activities. With older and more advanced students I am willing to teach music of their own choosing. I have also helped a student prepare for college auditions.

On practical matters, I require 24 hours advance notice before rescheduling or canceling a lesson, barring emergencies. If a student is late by over 1/3 of the lesson time (leaving less than 20 minutes for 30 minute lessons, 30 minutes for 45 minute lessons) I will count it as missed and the lesson will be forfeit. I inform students 24 hours in advance for scheduling changes and always do makeup lessons if I am sick on a scheduled lesson day.

I really look forward to meeting new students and to inspire them to be at their best!

Ha-eun is fantastic! She is helping our 10 year-old daughter master a new piece she needs to learn within the next 2 weeks. Can't praise her enough! We do in person as well as internet lessons. During the lesson, Ha-eun is focused on the student and her passion for music and fondness of teaching others truly shows. Listening to her playing the violin to show how it should be done is a delight. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a great teacher.

Hi there! I'm Anna, and I'm looking forward to meeting you. I've been offering private piano lessons since 2009 and offer foundations in music theory, technique, sight-reading and classic piano repertoire.

⭐️Greetings! I'm a full-time private music tutor! I'm an Exact-Notes certified teacher, which means I teach lessons supported with a blend of one-on-one private lessons and virtual courses that give amazing support and structure to your student's learning between lessons, like live online group practice sessions Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00-4:30pm EST on Zoom.

If you're looking for a teacher who makes learning fun and easy, then please contact me! 😁

About Zach
Hello! If I could only use one word to describe my philosophy on learning music, it would absolutely have to be "FUN!" That's why I've spent the last 17 years teaching more than 30,000 private lessons on Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, and Piano! The only reason I've been able to make a full-time business of teaching lessons is because I try to make every minute of every lesson as fun and successful as possible!

I also have special tricks up my sleeve to help. In 2018, I was awarded a US Patent that makes it easier to play stringed instruments. My students also use curriculum materials I made just for my students that makes learning from home quick and easy, even for beginners with no experience, young kids, and students with special needs.

I also try to make the process as simple for parents as possible by including the cost of books
into my lesson rate, which I'll order and ship to your home for no additional cost. And to help motivate and encourage good practice routines, students who join one of my online courses can practice together with me and my other students on live online practice sessions Mondays-Thursdays.

If you have any questions, please contact me and ’ll get back to you right away! Thank you! ♬

Below is my Biography, so you can get to know me a little bit more!

-- Zeynep Alpan Biography --

Turkish-American violinist, Zeynep Alpan, started studying the
violin at the age of 5 as part of her music therapy treatment for
her diagnosis of speech delay and Auditory Processing Disorder.
Immediately after being introduced to the violin, Zeynep began
to speak and following a year and a half of violin studies, she
had her first solo appearance with Vivaldi’s A minor Violin
Concerto, after winning the Peabody Concerto Competition.

As a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician, Zeynep has
appeared in a myriad of venues such as Carnegie Hall, Royal
Albert Hall, and the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. She has

Zeynep co-founded the Turkish-American Cultural Laboratory (TACL), which brings together and integrates the Turkish and American cultures through the arts. As director of this organization, Zeynep produces a multitude of events including workshops in public schools in NYC and Istanbul, commissioning new works by American and Turkish composers, and inter-disciplinary performances in the US and Turkey. Future projects include partnering with Bilkent University for an Academy for young musicians and composers in August 2020. TACL is proud to be
sponsored by Turkish Airlines.

With a passion for teaching, Zeynep is also a New York Philharmonic Teaching Artist and a Morse Teaching Artist partnering with New York City Schools. She also leads the String Ensemble program at the Nord Anglia International School New York, is a teacher and mentor at the Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard
School, and is on faculty at the NY Department of Education and Lincoln Center’s Audition Boot Camp.

Community outreach and service is an integral part of Zeynep’s musical life. In 2013, Zeynep co-founded the group Sonatas Stopping Starvation where she organized and ran food drives, benefit concerts and has partnered with food banks all over New York. Zeynep was also awarded the Gluck Community Service Fellowship where she played in various health care facilities in New York.

Zeynep is the first prize winner in many competitions, some of which include the Juilliard Concerto Competition, the Dorothy DeLay Competition and the National Philharmonic Competition. In 2015, Zeynep was awarded the Ataturk Youth Achievement Award by the Ataturk Society of America. Since 2017, Zeynep has been a violinist of The Montclair Orchestra. This is what Addison had to say, "She always would say the area I needed to work on nicely. I loved that she gave me knew things to learn at each lesson. If I didn't understand, she would keep encouraging me until I did." This was an excellent experience!

Music lessons with me are FUN! I am here to help you learn and support you along your journey.

My teaching method is special because it is tailored specifically to your needs. You are welcome if you're brand new to violin or if you've played for years.

I have been teaching privately and in music schools for 22 years and beginners are my specialty! I teach ages 4+. We learn songs that you are interested in. You will receive a balanced music education that covers all aspects of playing music.

About Mary E
I am a professional violin/fiddle player and singer, and I perform and teach music classes all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. I truly enjoy teaching and love seeing to the students needs and fulfilling what they need in order to progress as a musician. You are the most important part of our classes.

I worked for the NYC Department of Education as a substitute classroom and general music teacher (2015-2018). I have a background in students with special needs and special education. Se habla espanol.

I was award a full-tuition scholarship through an audition for the North American World Scholarship Program to attend Berklee College of Music. There I earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (2003).

I have been teaching and performing music professionally for 23 years. I began my studies as a young child with the Suzuki Method (whic
h focuses on learning by ear, substantial parental involvement, and only later reading music.) In high school I began studying jazz/blues improvisation, composition, and music theory. At Berklee College of Music I focused on jazz and all kinds of contemporary and traditional music.

After graduating I was awarded a position at the Henry Mancini Institute (2003) in Los Angeles and was privileged to work with some of the biggest names in music including Diana Krall and Christian McBride.

My favorite type of music to play these days is traditional Irish folk music, or "Irish trad". For the past few years I have immersed myself heavily in New York's traditional Irish music scene. I play regularly at several establishments in New York City alongside some of the city's finest Irish music players.

A large part of my teaching style is that you are having FUN, you are enjoying what you are learning, no matter your skill level. Even if you are an absolute beginner, we might work on playing the chorus or the riff of the song. For example, one year I had a very happy 6-year old boy learn the theme to Star Wars and another college student learning the music of MGMT.

We met Mary-Elizabeth for the first time in January 2009 by recommendation of The Royal Danish Academy of Music.
We were looking for a private violin teacher for my daughter Elisabeth, age 13, who at that time had never played an instrument before and was clearly shy and nervous about the project.
From the very first lesson, Mary-Elizabeth not only showed the skills and the basic technique of teaching the violin to younger children, but most impressing was her enthusiasme and joy that immidiately spread to the student. You could tell, that this was a teacher who loved playing too!!
And that opened all the doors for the difficult practising and today I have a daughter who enjoys so much playing that she brings the violin on every holiday to make sure she always has the instrument nearby!
I can sincerely recommend Mary-Elizabeth for teaching and I guarantee you, the students will love playing and look foreward to her lessons!

Our daughter took cello lessons from Esther from 9th grade through her senior year in high school. Esther is an excellent teacher and she taught our daughter so much in such a short amount of time! I so loved going to all her mini recitals too! Especially when they had mini ensemble groups! They did some original scores that just blew me away! One such original was called "School in the Wall" that combined Alice Cooper's School's Out for Summer and Pink Floyd's Brick in the Wall and it was completely awesome! Excellent teacher. I started violin lessons with Esther as a beginner adult in music and violin. I knew very little and was nervous about how to "jump in" to music later in life. Esther patiently and effectively guided me towards realizing my own individual potential. I initially took lessons in-house but then moved out of the country and continued online. She is extremely knowledgeable, reliable and experienced with a real ability to work with students of all levels! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sincere, gifted teacher who loves sharing music.
