This is a great lesson study for anyone who wants to sing(experienced or not).
Beginners would learn to approach their voices as instruments through breathing and use of their diaphragm. All classes would develop their ears through special exercises and harmony. More advanced singers the emphasis would be on stylings and nuances. I also try to develop them as an artist. All lessons are customized to the prospective students in addition to being a lot of fun. I've been teaching voice for about 15 years now.

Music awakens the inner soul, whether you just listen or learn to make your own music. Research shows music can enhance your concentration, build your confidence, decrease anxiety and increase your ability to analyze situations.
I strive to teach music in a way that will work best for each person and enhance their natural abilities and strengths.

I'm passionate about the arts and love to teach! I have over 19 years of performing arts experience, and 6 years of teaching experience (K-8th grade music, as well as dance and musical theatre camps for kids in my community). I received my Bachelor's degree in 2013, studying Theatre, Music, and Art.
What makes vocal lessons with me unique is that I have a background in theatre and dance as well. I am loving, creative, and meticulous. As a teacher, I will tailor my lessons around you, at your own level and pace, and will do my best to meet your individual needs as a student and performer. After learning what your goals are and what your vocal range and current skill level is--I will provide some musical repertoire for you to prepare and perform. You are also welcome to bring music that you'd like to learn. I can help you find your unique sound and convey emotion in your voice. And I offer an Audition Prep course as well!
About Clarissa
Clarissa has a passion for the arts, with over 19 years of performing experience and 6 years of teaching experience. She loved teaching music part-time for 4 years at a K-8th grade school in Montana, which involved directing the Christmas musicals each year. As a spunky three-year-old, Clarissa

Let's sing and grow your voice! During singing lessons I work to develop each individual voice through technique based exercises and songs. I have worked with singers of all ages ranging from 4 years old to 80 years old. Some students need to prep for performances or auditions while others just want to enjoy music and strengthen their voice. Each student moves at a different pace and may have specific needs, so the format of the lesson may vary slightly, however, we typically warm up first with vocal exercises to build and stretch the voice and then switch to either theory or a song the student is studying. If there is enough time in the lesson we will work on both skill sets or multiple songs. I like to work the full range of a student's voice so that their voice stays balanced and healthy. Song choice will depend on the level of the student and the genre of interest as well as which songs will best help their voice grow and reach its full potential.

Rebecca has helped me reach my goal of becoming a more accomplished choir member. I sing alto and before I took lessons with her, it was very difficult for me to stay on my part. She also helped me to breathe correctly and sing without straining my voice. I have learned SO MUCH from her, from how to warm up to how to project my voice so it can be heard. I am much more confident about my voice. She is a great teacher."
