I have been playing guitar for about 25 years and teaching for about seven years now. I played in a punk/rock band in high school and have since studied classical and jazz guitar. Currently I write and perform songs in a folk/acoustic style.

I studied classical guitar at the University of Central Florida, performing solo and ensemble repertoire. I can teach proper technique with both hands, music notation, tablature, sight reading, harmonic theory, and how to realize "orchestral" compositions.

I can teach shredding lead guitar riffs or strumming rhythm (typically acoustic) guitar. Whatever genre or style you're into, and whatever skill level you find yourself - I can help you play the songs you love.

I have over 20 years of profession touring and studio experience playing with some of the biggest names in the business that I bring to my lessons. I studied music in school and have continued to teach over the years which gives me the ability to use teaching and music school language with real world live performance experience. If you want to learn to play the way the pros do and have a lot of fun in the process, then this might be for you. My approach involves learning songs that you want to learn and teaching you techniques and theory in the process. Music is fun and should also be when taking lessons. Let’s get started!

Enough about me! We all know that everyone learns differently and has different strengths and weaknesses. My process is to analyze each student's unique abilities and to create a personalized learning experience for everyone. I have taught people from 5 to 83. I believe it is important to be empathetic to each person's needs, for example, I have experience teaching left-handed people, kids with Cerebral Palsy, Asperger's syndrome, people with missing fingers and other difficulties. Parents always ask me how I can be so patient with their kids, (the real secret is that I don't have to take them home ;) but on a serious note, I always remember the extreme amount of frustrating hours I put in before I got any real results.
