About Hiromi
I am a student at Ball State University, pursuing a Doctor of Arts degree in piano performance under the guidance of Dr. Robert Palmer. Hiromi is wonderful. This was my 13 year old son's first lesson on piano, and Hiromi tailor made the lesson to fit his level of experience. He was able to improv and experiment with the keyboard, and Hiromi guided him through perfectly, while then following up with structure. Thanks to Hiromi and a wonderful first lesson. :)

The lesson went very well. Aimi is very interactive.
The only small problem was the distraction created by a presrnce of 8 months baby crawling and making sounds.

Japanese is one of the hardest languages for a Westerner to learn. When my job sent me to Tokyo in 2012, I was excited to pick up the language as I had with Italian years earlier. But most teaching methods I found were positively awful, and served to confuse the student. So I developed my own combination of methods to learn Japanese as quickly as possible, and achieved fluency in six months. After that I began instructing Japanese classes for Americans living in Tokyo, creating my own curriculum from total beginner to fluency, helping more than 300 students enrich their experience of Japan by speaking the language.

Japanese is unlike any other language in the world, and I would be delighted to show you the incredibly rewarding path to fluency.

About Luke
I am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with others and have been lucky to be teaching my entire adult life. There are so many enriching experiences available to us when we learn more about the world.

Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

Hello, my name is Maxmillion. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam, and my parents are both from Okinawa, Japan. I grew up speaking both English and Japanese, and spent many summers attending school in Okinawa. I am comfortable teaching conversational Japanese, hiragana, katakana, basic kanji, and I can also help with proper pronunciation. I currently offer online lessons and in home lessons, but can also meet up locally at a coffee shop, library, etc. よろしくお願いします!

About Maxmillion
I am very proud to have been born and raised on the lovely island of Guam! I have been playing guitar, bass, and drums since I was 15, and have had a passion for music since I can remember. In 2007, I earned my associates degree in music from Musicians Institute Hollywood. I have had my music placed in popular television shows, such as “The Real World” and “Road Rules," as well as the film “The Tested.”

I previously played guitar in a project called Xolie Morra and the Strange Kind. We were featured as the musical guest on the popular late night talk show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in January 2014. We were also featured on the local television programs "Art Zone with Nancy Guppy" and "New Day Northwest." We are also featured on YouTube as sponsored artists on EMGtv and Blue Microphones. I also have had the opportunity to share the stage with
Crosby Stills and Nash, John Mayer, Don Felder, Brandi Carlile, Russell Ferrante, Travis Carlton, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Guitar is my main focus, but I am also comfortable teaching bass and ukulele. I love all styles, and specialize in rock, blues, funk, pop, reggae, metal, and acid jazz. I have experience teaching students of all ages (as young as 4 years old) and am currently an active teacher. I am also fluent in Japanese.

I am a native Japanese speaker with a Japanese teaching credential. All ages and levels are welcomed! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. I am also qualified to tutor graduate students (Master’s and PhD) doing their thesis.
I believe when we learn other languages, it is important to learn their culture, history, etc. for better understanding. I’ve learned Japanese drums, how to wear Kimono, Tea and flower ceremonies so that we can explore Japanese culture more than just learning the language!

Bio:
I have been in love with language my whole life. This led to learning and studying English for the past 30 years. In learning English I rediscovered my love of Japanese language as well. I would like to share my enthusiasm for Japanese language with you.

I grew up in a family in which everyone was a t
eacher including my grandmothers, grandfather, aunts, uncle, and my parents. My family inspired me to become an educator as well where I would have the chance to make a difference in students' educational, social, and emotional well-being. I earned my teaching credential from Kochi Women's University in Japan and a Master's in Intercultural communication from Kobe University, Japan.

During graduate school days, I worked as a tutor for international Master's and PhD students to assist them on their theses in Japanese. After I moved to Los Angeles, I started my career in the corporate world, and have worked in the US, Canada and Japan for last 15 years. In Canada, I taught Classic Japanese and Chinese Poetry at Toronto Japanese School as a high school teacher.

My lesson includes cultural aspect in Japan with life style It is totally depends on what my students are interested in, such as food, sports, music, art, and more. I have a philosophy in teaching. Speaking actively with my student interest enhance writing and reading all at once with letting them to have the maximum motivation to speak up what they want to say. Grammar will catch up naturally by listening how I speak to my students and reading materials they present or I exchange. It works a lot better than text book teaching. My lesson would not be authentic, which means I teach Japanese language that has been used the most in actual life My students speak natural/common Japanese faster. As you are talking about your interest in Japanese language, your vocabulary will increase faster, also you will find other Japanese people or learners who share the same interest quicker and they will stay confidence in speaking with others. Overall, my students like my lesson because this

I recently graduated with a minor in Japanese from UGA. I have been a student of the Japanese language for a little under ten years, passed JPLT N5 as a freshman in high school, was recognized by teachers at every level as an outstanding student, completed the highest level of Japanese offered at any high school in the United States and excelled on the exam, was a participant in numerous Japanese speech and academic contests, and have traveled to Japan multiple times (once on a free trip sponsored by the Japanese government for outstanding students of Japanese). I have been around the language and culture for years and I take a multi-media approach to learning, including the use of videos, music, text, and activities such as calligraphy or traditional games to help students truly become engrossed in the subject.

About Alexander
Hello everyone! My name is Alexander (Alex). I am a recent graduate of the University of Georgia (with majors in political science and international affairs as well as minors in Chinese and Japanese). Previously I have worked as a Mandarin Chinese tutor for elementary school-aged kids and enjoyed the opportunity to make my own lesson plans and teach what I want to rather than just helping classmates with random assignments or completing busywork. Outside of Chinese I am well-qualified to tutor students in other subjects as well, some of which include Japanese, history, geography, and even writing. I am an IB Diploma recipient, graduated near the top of my high school class, graduated magna cum laude from UGA and was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa.

I have always viewed helping people as one of the most important things I could do and my pe
rsonal philosophy is that any activity is worth doing as long as you learn something from it and enjoy it. To me, tutoring is the intersection of these two ideas and can therefore fulfill my desire not only to help people but to provide them with a chance to learn something new. With tutoring, I can become far more acquainted with the students than in a conventional classroom, learn about what works best for them, and use all of my available resources to create a unique as well as effective lesson plan. As long as a person is willing to learn, I am ecstatic to help them reach their goals and become a more globally aware person. As for my methods, I could be described as a "by the book" kind of instructor who makes use of numerous textbooks or related materials to form a well-rounded lesson plan. For example, one session may be just learning vocabulary or grammar and then another week may be spent learning about the origins of the language or making cultural arts and crafts. It is not out of the ordinary for lessons to include a bit of everything if time provides. I stress reviewing the material often and because of that I may create flashcards, give homework, or provide access to certain resources online which may help the student memorize the material between lessons. If something needs to be reviewed, I will make sure it is well-learned before jumping to the next topic so as to make sure the student does not become lost amidst an avalanche of unfamiliar terms. I also like to integrate videos or my own personal experience into the lessons so the students may see the real-world applications of the skills they are learning.
