I play and teach a variety of percussion instruments, including hand drums (congas, tubano, djembe, bongos), xylophone and other toned percussion, shaker-type instruments, tambourine, guiro, etc.
Percussion instruments are a great way to introduce very young children to playing music. In the past, I taught music classes to toddlers and preschoolers, with an emphasis on percussion. I have also taught percussion to teens and adults.

Sean really knows percussion. I've witnessed this both during lessons and when my family watched him perform with the Lone Tree Symphony. Sean is wonderful with kids. Although my son has attention issues, Sean is extremely patient, and he is able to efficiently redirect and focus my son. With Sean, music lessons are enjoyable. He has taken the time to get to know my son and how my son learns. I feel like the lessons are tailored extremely well for my child's abilities. Best of all, Sean is just a wonderful person. He's easy to talk to and has a great sense of humor. My son looks forward to his lessons with Sean each week. You won't find a better percussion instructor!

I have been taking private lessons from Kevin for two years now as we'll as receiving instruction in Band for the last three years. Kevin not only is an incredible percussionist himself, but he has a knack for being able to convey ideas to students that they can understand. New and better approaches to teaching rhythm, personalized lesson planning to suit a student's needs, and a vast knowledge of music from years of professional experience are just a few things that Kevin brings to the table. If you're looking for a percussion instructor, I would highly recommend Kevin as your first choice!"
