I teach guitar to all levels! I want to know your favorite songs and I will help you learn to play through the music that YOU like. Guitar is fun, even though it takes a lot of practice, and every time you have a lesson I want it to make your day better.

I have played many styles of guitar on booth acoustic and electric, including classical, jazz, blues, rock, funk, pop, folk, Latin, and Celtic. In my personal practice I am currently enjoying learning more about open tunings and live looping with a pedal. If you are interested in learning music theory, improvisation, and songwriting I have many of my own unique methods to help you on the road to creativity and composition as well as technical skill.

As a certified yoga teacher I also emphasize correct body posture and relaxation to help make your playing more efficient and decrease discomfort.

Guitar is my primary instrument and I can teach it in a variety of styles and with a variety of techniques. I'm comfortable playing with a pick or my fingers and playing in genres from classical to rock to jazz.

I also teach various forms of slide guitar:
Slide (Bottleneck) for the standard guitar, Lap-style Dobro (Open G Tuning), Lap Steel Non-Pedal 6 String Electric Guitar (C6 Tuning), and 10 String Pedal Steel Guitar (E9 Tuning).

From playing Bach to Carcassi to Sor it is the oldest guitar style that is heard to this day. Learning correct finger technique is the glue to being able to play the music of the past masters. You'll learn to read music and finger technique.

The best way to learn the guitar is by learning the songs you love. As a beginner, we will start by learning the foundation to guitar playing such as hand placement and finger picking techniques. We will quickly jump into playing simple chords and scales, and learning the theory behind them. We will work through some introductory guitar song books, and before you know it, we will be playing your favorite classical songs.

Having studied guitar in Spain with masters of the craft, Francesca has a personal passion for classical and Spanish guitar. The first instrument Francesca seriously studied was the classical guitar, starting at age 5. It is her first language.
