My experience speaks for itself. From Drum Corp to being on tour to studio work to theater shows there really is not much I haven't played or taught, I focus a lot on how to practice because not many people really know how to practice the right way to get the most out of their performance.

I believe that each person is drawn to the drums for different reasons; some have dreams of performing in stadiums for thousands of people, others simply want to be able to play along to their favorite records in the garage on a Sunday afternoon. Whatever your goals are, my goal as a teacher is to always keep sight of your initial motivations for drumming, craft an individual plan to help you get there, and to have some fun along the way! (All styles & levels welcome)

I have been playing the drums for 20+years and teaching for 8+years. I studied jazz at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, but am no stranger to playing Rock, RnB, Punk, etc..at dirty dive bars, music festivals, and other less stuffy environments :)

Learning drums is extremely fun and satisfying! It involves the entire body and the mind, challenging in many different ways and extremely rewarding.

While it can be demanding to learn an instrument, it can be as easy as you want it to be. Our lessons can be designed to fit your personal goal. In the lessons we will play songs, study technique and reading and learn different genres of music - all while having fun!

I have been teaching for over 10 years, with experience in all levels (Beginner to Advanced) and in every age group. I am very passionate about teaching music, I believe it has the power to change lives, and also helps with just putting a smile on your face :)

I am very comfortable with all major areas of Percussion: Drumset, Concert Percussion, Marching Percussion, Latin Percussion, Steel Pan, Percussion Ensemble. I work to find effective ways to have people discover their hidden talents and show them how to build skills to play at whatever level they want.

I have a background in fundamental rhythm, rather than teaching the student to simply play, I teach them to read and write their own rhythms and drum beats in a fun and hands-on manner using methods that music teachers around the country use in their classrooms. Furthermore, I have years of experience teaching children as young as 4 years old from their very first lesson. I’ve developed my own method for children to read drum music using simple and an easy to understand rhythmic language.

I believe that we can be complete musicians, not JUST drummers, so I like to involve music making into all we do in our time together.
