I teach real classical method, using John Thompson's Modern Course for piano, as well as the essential Baroque period music that has been traditionally used for classical training over the past 200 years. (Eg. Anna Magdelena's notebook (J.S. Bach), 2 part inventions by J.S. Bach, Beethoven Sonatas and Sonatinas, Chopin Preludes/Noctures/Waltzes.

As an experienced piano teacher of 10 plus years, I can help you get started learning the basics of piano playing, or help you learn more advance playing & technic. I offer lessons that are customized for each student's individual needs. I can help you learn to play your favorite song while teaching the building blocks of piano playing, like sight reading, playing by ear, theory, chords, and more! I bring more than thirty years of experience in teaching piano to students of every age and level. All lessons are tailored to each student's level and comprehension. I use a comprehensive approach to teaching piano incorporating technique development, learning of theory, piano performance and sight reading. In my lessons, I select and combine classical music from different music periods. I also help students who want to obtain certificates from Associated Board of Royal School of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College London (TCL) to excel in these examinations.

With a background in Suzuki method and Masters degree in music composition, I use my own method and curriculum that aim to give a thorough understanding of how music works and sounds as well as training the memory of songs and exercises, technique, and improvisation.

I’ve been working as a Music Instructor since High School and can honestly say I can’t think of anything else that would bring me such joy every day. I love working with students of all ages and abilities and get so much satisfaction from seeing how they grow and develop in their skills and performance. My expertise is in flute and piano performance. I started the piano at the age of 5 and continued on to add flute in middle school. I continued to play both flute and piano all through college.
