I teach guitar to all levels! I want to know your favorite songs and I will help you learn to play through the music that YOU like. Guitar is fun, even though it takes a lot of practice, and every time you have a lesson I want it to make your day better.

I have played many styles of guitar on booth acoustic and electric, including classical, jazz, blues, rock, funk, pop, folk, Latin, and Celtic. In my personal practice I am currently enjoying learning more about open tunings and live looping with a pedal. If you are interested in learning music theory, improvisation, and songwriting I have many of my own unique methods to help you on the road to creativity and composition as well as technical skill.

As a certified yoga teacher I also emphasize correct body posture and relaxation to help make your playing more efficient and decrease discomfort.

I teach every student the technical skills and applied theory necessary to work in any contemporary style on guitar. I use the "Be better than you have to be" approach. Want to be the best on a bad day? Be better than your chosen style requires. I studied classical and jazz in order to excel at rock, folk and blues.
You will learn to read music and charts for guitar, as well as movable scale patterns, movable chord forms, and how to apply it all to master the fretboard.

I have 20 plus years in several styles of guitar including Rock, Metal, Blues, Worship styles. I also teach songwriting on guitar. We're gonna HAVE FUN! Your lessons will be customized to your needs and what you want to do with your ability to play guitar. I can teach you either electric or acoustic guitar. I can prepare you for any genre as I include fundamentals (for example, scales and arpeggios) in your practice. I use Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method books for reference and/or lesson work. I can help you learn how to play with a pick, how to finger-pick, how to sing and play simultaneously, and even how to sightread.

Guitar lessons are fun for all ages, styles and levels. I'd love to help you learn to play the songs that YOU love on the guitar! Beginners are encouraged to apply. You'll have fun while reaching your musical goals. In addition to learning great songs, you'll learn improvisation and applied music theory. Also, I'll enjoy assisting the you in creating a practice regimen that fits in your time schedule.
