Flute Performance from Berklee College of Music
Keeping the performing arts active and alive in my community has always been important to me. I strive to encourage creativity and to help my students flourish by nurturing their musical gift with proven teaching techniques. My teaching model is that of the traditional lesson structure, where I dedicate the first 15 minutes of an hour to learning warm up techniques, scales and music theory. I then focus on an etude to further develop the flute playing techniques needed to play an involved piece of music. The final 30 minutes are spent working on whatever piece of music my student has selected. I often let my student's choose the music they feel most connected to and excited about however, I will also choose for them to ensure they learn what are considered the "flute standards" in repertoire. The traditional lesson style helps to maintain structure within a lesson time frame but I am also flexible and will deviate to focus on areas my students may need extra time on.

I began my musical career in the 4th grade when first introduced to the flute. After graduating from high school in 2006, I attended Berklee College of Music in
The way she connects with the music is like something I’ve never seen before. I would highly recommend Michelle for any event that you are looking to host. She also mentioned she conducts lessons-although I am not a musician myself, I believe she would be an excellent teacher!

Each and every one of my lessons is tailored to the needs of the student, whether you're an absolute beginner who's never touched a guitar or you're an intermediate/advanced player who's looking to improve your shred game, I'll come up with a lesson plan for you. I cover a wide range of topics and genres, and I'm more than happy to discuss topics such as technique, music theory, song writing, improvisation, or any topic you're curious about. Not only will I teach you how to play guitar, I'll teach you how to be the most complete musician you can be.

I will admit to you, the reader, that most of the articles I have written thus far assume that the reader is already a fairly avid chess player, who is aware of the basic rules of chess and thus is interested in learning more advanced strategies, traps, and tricks with the goal of decisively defeating the opponent. But, of course, not everybody is born knowing the rules of chess---there are, in fact, many out there who are unfamiliar with the game, and need an introduction. Especially now …

As a game, chess is traditionally divided into three phases: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. While all three are important, today I’m going to help you start out strong in the opening. When I first learned how to play chess, I played openings that really did not help me improve and left me with an awkward start to the game more often than not. Eventually, I adopted some of the openings that I will show you in this post and my rating skyrocketed. Opening Principles The first …
