I am a passionate musician and educator. I have worked for many years as a private flute instructor on both the modern and baroque flute, gaining experience teaching many age and skill levels. Lessons are tailored to the individual needs and goals of the student, with an emphasis on developing tone, technique, and breathing skills. Students will also be encouraged to think about the music that they play. As a musician, I developed an interest in the field of Historical Performance over the course of my undergraduate degree. In this field, one not only studies the music of past periods, but studies its relevance to the social, political, and cultural circumstances of its time. I believe this puts me in a unique position as a music educator, as I understand the importance of teaching students to connect musical works to their historical contexts. This is a skill that will provide them with a richer understanding of all types of music, including both classical and popular, and give them ...

I have only had one lesson with Dan but he starts at the beginning, with the foundation of singing, the breath. I learned about myself, how I sing now and how I need to learn to use my breath for more supported singing. I really enjoyed it!
Alex
After years of taking lessons in various other instruments, Dan was easily the best instructor I've ever had. He was able to quickly adapt to my background in music, anticipate and fill in any gaps in knowledge that I had, and had the patience to answer my many, many questions. This was my first set of singing lessons ever, and my first lessons online, and he made it all feel very natural and specialized to my needs. He set clear goals for me, listened to what I wanted to get out of lessons, and guided me through everything. Not only is he an excellent instructor, he's just a really kind, patient, and enjoyable person to be around and talk with. Can't recommend him enough

Dan is a great teacher and I've been very happy with the results of working with him and practicing the exercises he's given me. He is excellent at listening to your voice to hear what you're struggling with and develop a personalized approach to retraining your voice muscles to work efficiently and effortlessly.

About Gabriel

Most beginners I’ve encountered have no idea what they want to play or even why. my suggestion is before coming to your teacher pinpoint the what and the why. Why did you want to learn guitar? Was it a song, or a really cool sounding riff? Did you see someone play live and feel like “I could do th

Learning piano or any instrument takes patience and is rewarding to see progress. I give the student time to learn and process their songs. I welcome questions and give professional feedback. I think of myself of more of a music coach to provide support through your musical journey.

About Angie

I started playing the piano when I was about 8 years old living in Salt Lake City Utah. My family would be watching TV or doing something else and I would go upstairs and play the piano instead. I practiced until I got to the level to play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata original composition. I still

My son has sensory processing disorder and delayed fine motor skills. We started piano lessons to help him catch up. The results of Angie's positive, patient and encouraging approach exceeded our expectations. Her lessons not only improved my son's dexterity, but they also helped my son to appreciate, play and compose music. He has even chosen to evolve his percussion skills in band class. I highly recommend her for any family.

Our daughter really enjoys her lessons with Angie. Angie is very patient and relates well to children. She is encouraging and I really believe that my daughter will continue to learn and improve with Angie as her teacher.

I have been teaching for 7 years, and I enjoy helping my students be the best they can be! I help my students find their areas of interest, and then we are able to focus on those areas. I also put an emphasis on learning basic theory. I have a variety of excellent books that I will recommend, but we can also work with some of the books that the student may already own.

About Monica

I got married in October 2019, and now my husband and I work at a private Christian academy in Sanford, ME. I enjoy playing piano and singing in my free time, and I love working with kids and sharing my love of music.

My 7 year old daughter loves being able to take lessons from Monica through FaceTime! She has progressed really well in just a couple of months of doing lessons and is choosing to practice on her own. She has developed a joy for hymns and classical pieces. Monica works wonderfully with her and makes sure she understands what she needs to work on for her next lesson and always makes sure she doesn’t have any questions. Monica encourages her to do her best and push herself.
Michelle
My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Monica for about 5 years. Monica started out teaching lessons to her at our home and now my daughter is currently taking lessons online. Monica is a wonderful teacher. Her patient attitude puts her students at ease. The convenience of taking online lessons works well for our schedule. I don't have to drive my daughter anywhere. It doesn't matter what the weather is, lesson doesn't have to be canceled. This has been a wonderful experience for us and we highly recommend Monica as a piano teacher.

"Stan has been a wonderful teacher for our young boy who started at 4 and continues to this day. Stan uses a wide range of music styles and arranges them for children. This allows my son not to get bogged down, bored, or resistant to playing. We have to drive an hour for these lessons, but our son refuses to change teachers. There is the option of expanding into guitar, voice, composition, etc."
