I have had nothing but the best experience working with Marlisa. She is patient, she takes the time to verify that you've grasped a concept you're struggling with and works to find the best way to communicate with YOU. I don't think anyone would regret spending an hour or two learning and chatting with Marlisa. I feel so inspired and more confident each time I leave a session. If you're on the fence about trying this; don't hesitate!

Marlisa is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable teacher. I took my granddaughter to her for a pottery lesson and she was very happy with Marlisa's teaching, resulting in her being able to throw a bowl on the wheel that she can actually use. I would highly recommend Marlisa as a teacher for students of all ages!

My first class with Mya Mya was excellent. I had taken a class prior to this and was not feeling confident about my abilities until I met Mya Mya. If you're thinking about sewing and need help. I would encourage you to meet with an instructor first one-on-one before taking a class or online training. The instructor and can help guide you better. I'm so glad I learned about this instructor. You will not be disappointed.

My substantial areas of expertise are women and men patternmaking, draping, garment construction (sewing), tailoring, technical drawing, concepts sketching, from basic to advance skill set. I am also a big fan of incorporating recycled / repurposing materials such as leather, suede into garments.I encourage students to construct their own learning in an environment that stimulates and helps students to realize their full potential.

About Hasaan
I have obtained a degree in Menswear Design and Marketing from Fashion Institute of Technology and a degree in Applied Science Visual Communications from Katharine Gibbs School. I’ve taught garment construction, sketching and CAD design classes (Adobe Suite) for five years and have over 17 years of experience in the fashion industry. I have taught these skills to adolescents and adults in various programs including: Day and evening classes in afterschool s, summer programs
As a teacher, my main goal is to motivate students to do their best and extend their own personal limits. I devise programs, according to syllabus requirements, that expand on previous knowledge and encourage students to explore new and interesting possibilities. I encourage students to construct their own learning in an environment that stimulates and helps student
s to realize their full potential. I have had some excellent results with students who have a history of poor performance.

I had a tight time schedule to finish a summer project before I went in for surgery and Hasaan was very sensitive to that. He was able to teach me new skills in pattern making and cutting that made the process easier/ more accurate as well as sewing techniques. I would say my experience with him was very positive and he was always cheerful and and in a great mood and helped me out a lot with my project. I would definitely recommend using him for lessons.

Hasaan Roselle has taught and directed our summer camp program, Camp Fashion Design for four years now. His passion for fashion is clearly evident as he steps our campers through the basics of sketching and fashion construction. Girls are intrigued and motivated as he shares with them his knowledge of fashion and his many years of experience in the industry. Moreover, his easy going personality and his attention to every detail make him a wonderful choice for a fashion design instructor. We have found him to be patient, caring and considerate with our students as they learn the intricate ins and outs of this sometimes overwhelming industry. Not only is he encouraging, he also allows students to step 'outside of the box' and to explore new ideas instead of always following the conventional path. We like that a lot. This is how the next generation of new, young designers is created! We highly recommend his services and we look forward to him joining us once again next summer at Camp Fashion Design!

My granddaughter learned so much in a hour and Jennifer helped her to start her project. Jennifer scheduled a time on the 25th to help my granddaughter.

My expertise in sewing always inspires creativity and passion within students, and the ease with which i guide them to explore their own creativity bring fun to the lessons. Having over 25 years of custom couture tailoring and teaching has given me a vast experience in order for me to equip any student with the requisite knowledge needed to tackle any sewing project.

About Kodjo
Most people simply call me Joe. I have a bachelors in Fine Art, an MBA and been making clothes for my clients for over 25 years. I taught many people sewing and they've gone ahead to tackle various projects on their own to their own disbelief. Creativity comes to me naturally and with a background in figure drawing and painting, my knowledge of anatomy of the human figure helps a lot in translating it into designs for all figure types and sizes. I have handled many interior design projects also, so all these experiences equip me with immense knowledge to transfer to those who want to learn all about sewing, whether as a beginner, an intermediary or advanced student.

Hi all, I'm an experienced sewer with a degree in Textiles and Design! I've been sewing and teaching for over 20 years and love what I do.
Because I've worked with children and created lesson plans I know exactly how to teach with clarity and work according to the needs of my students.

About Adenike
Hello,

My name is Adenike, you can call me Adé. I'm a trained fashion stylist and designer with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from the University of Rhode Island.

I have taught sewing and design, to people of all ages, genders, and abilities throughout my professional career. It began in 2002 when I decided to work with the Americorps, Teach America program. There I created and executed a lesson plan that taught students how to sketch, render, sew, read patterns and adjusts garments for personal to suit their personal needs. The program incorporated science, math, and history so that they had a practical and anthropological approach to fashion design. It was great, and I discovered that one of my other joys in life is teaching.

Most recently, I've worked with Hobby Quest, where I teach children in an after schoo
l setting. Hobby Quest requires an extensive background check because of that fact that work is done with students on school grounds. I can supply references that will attest to my professionalism and easy going nature.

It's recommended that you schedule for a minimum of 60 minutes to get the most out of you lesson.
