I am very student focused and driven. I want to help my student realize their full potential with playing drums.
I can introduce my student to a basic understanding of music theory and hard rock/metal drumming is my main focus - however I am versed in other music genres as well, to give my student the most options to work with.
Relaxed, fun, and detail oriented are all words I would use to describe myself.
So, if you are looking for a drum teacher that can cover: rudiments, stick control, basic tempo/time understanding, metronome familiarity, tuning of a kit, drum maintenance, and much more, look no further!

About Nicholas

I understand that learning something new can be very daunting. I know that in particular, because I am still new to teaching! We can both learn together. I want to make it my goal, to help you be a better musician, performer, and most obviously: a better drummer. I care deeply about making sure my

Music is a part of everyone. Yes, that means YOU!

Too many people say they "wish" they knew how to play an instrument, as if it wasn't up to them. As if those skills fell out of the sky and landed on people luckier than them. Well they don't.

The ability to play is a skill that YOU CAN LEARN. Music Theory is knowledge that YOU CAN LEARN. You want to learn these things, and I want to help you!

I've taught private and group piano classes in San Diego for 2 years, and it truly has become my passion. I'm constantly looking for more opportunities to grow and spread the joy of music to those who seek it.

My ultimate goal as an instructor is to inspire confidence and provide my students with the foundational tools necessary to be musicians in their own right. I want to leave you with the drive, curiosity, and tools to continue learning on your own, if and when our relationship comes to an end.

Lets get started! I look forward to meeting you!

About Perry

A little about me: I grew up in Portland Oregon and attended Oregon State University, majoring in Economics with a minor in Music. I moved down to San Diego in 2017 seeking a change in scenery. I absolutely love it down here, and have been fortunate to surround myself with great people. For two

"Our daughter Norah who's 5 1/2 years old have had 8 months of Suzuki lessons and she hated it. Every time we practiced, it was frustrating and difficult processed for the both of us. Now, we have found Leah, we absolutely love her. Norah enjoys the lessons (4 lessons already) and have asked me to practice with her. This is amazing!

Thank you so much Leah! You have made a big difference for Norah and for us. When you see your child enjoy learning and wanting to learn, that's when you know it's working.

A big thanks to Leah!"

"My sister bought 5 months of ukulele lessons for my 7-old-daughter as a gift and it has been a wonderful experience! At first, I was a little unsure of how online lessons would work out, especially for a 7-year-old, but Glenn kept my daughter engaged and fielded all technical challenges with grace and skill. He introduced things clearly and systematically, but I was most impressed with his sensitivity to appeal to my daughter's particular interests. Rather than giving her canned kiddy beginner pieces to start with (which certainly would have been easier for him), he asked what songs she liked and then transposed them himself to her level. That takes effort and dedication and really sets Glenn apart. Furthermore, Glenn met Jackie's brother one day and learned that he plays guitar and asked if they wanted something to play together. He evaluated my son's level and again, transposed a wonderful little arrangement for them to play together. It was wonderful that they had such an opportunity and everyone in the family loved getting to hear their duet. Glenn has truly succeeded in establishing a genuine interest in this instrument for my daughter, and I am grateful and touched by the way he tailored a program just for her. She has enjoyed the lessons very much and says she wants to go to California and meet Glenn face-to-face one day."

"Sammy is a really friendly teacher with a hands-on approach that works wonders. I came in as a beginner and we started applying vocal exercises to songs day one, and I was amazed with how quickly I progressed. When I get tripped up on something new, he's always got just the right analogy to make a tricky concept click, and as a result I never feel like I realy get stuck on anything. His enthusiasm for all music is infectious as well - no matter the genre, he really knows his stuff, and he's not afraid to help you outside your comfort zone and tackle an unfamiliar genre with song selections that are both fun and effective."
