I began my training as a classical singer in high school, and I have spent the past decade training to be the best musician and classical singer as I possibly can be. I am a firm believer that a classical technique should be the basis of any kind of vocal training, whether or not a student's goals include singing classical music, because it is the healthiest, safest and most effective way of singing. With my experience as a singer and a vocal student and my knowledge of opera and art song, I absolutely love teaching classical voice!

Hi! I am a conservatory trained classical singer who has been performing professionally for nine years and teaching privately for six. I'm very comfortable teaching a wide variety of genres and tailor my teaching style entirely to a student's level of experience, goals, voice type, age and musical

Lane was an amazing instructor. She is easy to talk to, and listens to the student. I learned so much during my time with her. I was very disappointed when she had to leave the school. Lane is extremely knowledgable, and makes learning fun. I hope our singing paths cross again!

I was only in the area for a short while, but decided to keep up with my voice lessons. I decided to study under Marti and was very pleased that I did! As a singer who had private lessons for about 6 years under different instructors prior to going to Marti, I found that Marti’s instruction was uniquely different in a great way. She is very knowledgeable in guiding you through to implement truthful acting derived from the text into the music, which allows for a more genuine sound. She can also help you pinpoint the areas in your voice that you would like to further improve, and give you the tools to help encourage the improvement. Although the time we spent together was short, I learned a lot! I highly suggest going to Marti for vocal instruction.

As an instructor Fernando, listens and pays attention to what it is I’m saying and is very good at readying the tone of our class/session and can change things up/move the lesson in a different direction to better help me. Weather I’m just not getting it, or if there seams to be an exercise I get very quickly, he does not waist time in that area. He creates a comfortable space that lets you know it’s ok to do things with your voice that maybe in the past you where nervous to do or even told not to do. This little tid bit right there is why everyone needs to give it a shot, I would highly recommend Fernando!! I give him an A++ Rating.

"I would not have been prepared whatsoever for the (what seemed like) never ending process of college auditioning. While college auditions are typically anxiety boosters, Michelle and Robert’s technique and ways of preparation over prepared me to the point where the audition was a breeze. With their help using mock auditions including sight singing, how to self warm up, posture and the necessity for 3-5 pieces of repertoire that fit my image and sound, I would not be where I am today. I knew nothing of the tediousness that a college audition was. Throughout my practice we worked on acting, something I needed major reform on. With practice, my acting made me more confident performing my piece as well as engaged my audience. Without both of their motivation and push I would not have succeeded the way I did and my audition would have been a lot bigger and scarier, when in reality it wasn’t. The biggest help for me, I believe was the mock auditions. With constant practices that mimicked the actual audition, this prepared me both mentally and physically for what the actual procedure would be like. I practiced entering the room as well as greeting the judges, something I hadn’t thought of prior. Interacting with the judges seemed a lot less nerve racking with the use of practice questions and how to answer them in a polite and engaging way. As we continued to practice, my nerves subsided. It became routine and over prepared me for the actual audition. Without Robert and Michelle’s aid I would not have been able to overcome some of my personal anxieties as well as succeed the way I did. Their constant motivation and cheer helped my nerves and allowed me to completely relax yet stay focused when practicing. I wouldn’t have the confidence I have today without their help aiding me in my vocal presentation and interaction with school officials/judges. Any student would be extremely lucky to have Michelle and Robert prepare them for college. With their tough work ethic and constant motivation, success surely follows."

"My husband and I are both musicians and have studied music for many years. We were looking for a qualified voice teacher for our daughter, to prepare for an important audition. She wanted to sing opera and did well learning the arias and studying various opera singers on You Tube; but sometimes her throat would hurt. She needed to learn healthy vocal techniques.

Michelle immediately, gave her several exercises to develop her breathing, an increase her volume, and worked on her diction in Italian, French and German; always enthusiastic an encouraging. Michelle went above and beyond to help our daughter gain the confidence that she needed and to bring out the best in her.

We highly recommend Michelle Kei I."

"I have had the pleasure of working with Michelle in a performance capacity through Opus Choral Ensemble. Michelle brings a wealth of performance experience and vocal technique knowledge to the choir. By sharing her knowledge and experience with other choir members, Michelle has helped shape and improve the over-all vocal quality and musicianship of the choir. Any student wishing to pursue training in voice will benefit greatly from her guidance."

"I absolutely adore working with Robert in preparation for my future in the voice and music industry. His technique and approach for both the voice and music theory is not only helpful but also fun. Under his instruction I'm both able to learn both technique on how to better my sound and the anatomy behind it. I enjoy going to voice twice a week and I always look forward to my lessons as they approach. I truly feel I am being prepared in the bests ways possible for my future as well as the most fun learning environment voice teachers have to offer."

"Brittany works hard to train her students well. She is herself a well-trained musician (I've heard her in multiple concerts) who is committed to producing students who not only sing accurately and with good technique, but also with musicality. Brittany is gentle and loving with children and seems to know what "works". Brittany has always been very professional in her work (dress, punctuality, politeness, etc.)."
