OMG my excitement is through the roof after my first lesson with Humberto! I can't even get my feet to touch the ground. I am an adult, basically starting from scratch picking up my violin for the first time in 20+ years having played for a year as a kid. I was so nervous, and feel silly starting at such an elementary level, and Humberto's instruction was not only expert, but his enthusiasm was completely genuine. He was authentically supportive every step of the way and thrilled at every moment of progress. His infectious smile made me feel so safe being a novice starting over and so excited for my next lesson...which he's not teaching me in Spanish since he learned I need to practice my dusty Spanish skills as well! Couldn't recommend him highly enough, love love love Humberto and can't wait til next week's lesson!

Learning a foreign language can be challenging and frustrating! I believe it is important to ceate a friendly welcoming atmospher for learning, where students feel able to ask questions, make mistakes, and enjoy themselves. Without this freedom, learning a language is more dificult. I have experience teaching students of all ages - young and old. I have always built good rapport with students I teach.

My style is founded in the importance of communicative competency first. Research shows students learn best when they are free to make mistakes, and do not learn best by rote. Lessons will be tailored to students' needs/interests. We will learn throuh a specific topic drawing on the vocabularly and grammar associated with that topic rather than learning grammar or vocabulalry alone.

About William
I have been tutoring since 2014 when I worked in Spanish elementary school. Prior to that, I graduated from Exeter Univeristy with a Master's in Social and Political Philosophy and a Bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of Leicester. I also was employed by the prestigous tutoring service Titanium Tutors in London.

I teach Philosophy, Political Sciences, and History up to advanced level having covered these subjects extensivley over my college career. I can teach Spanish up to intermediate level having lived in Spain and studied at school, as well as English, Geography, and Religion. I am also happy teaching writing skills and preparing for exams.

I believe the best way for students to learn is through a dialogue, for them to show they understand. To acheive this, I avoid lecturing and rote learning. Instead, I set out cl
ear learning objectives at the start and then ask appropriate questions to ascertain the student's understanding throughout our lessons together. This way my lessons are personable, and geared towards the individual student's needs.

I also believe learning should be enjoyable. I create a fun, enthusiastic lesson environment. I have worked with students of all ages and have built good rapport with them all. I look forward to getting to know you and starting working together soon!

Julia is amazing. I have been tutored before but it always ended with frustration and lose of interest. Julia is the opposite of that. She is always prepared with very personalized lessons specific to what you wanna learn. At no point did I feel like she was trying to fit me into her mold. She tailors her teaching to me and what I am interested in, and adapts well when I am struggling. She clearly demonstrates her dedication to her students through the amount of preparation she puts in and has the teaching background to overcome learner difficulties. I very much suggest Julia for other Spanish learners at all levels.

Letícia is the best teacher I found in the area by far.
I improved my Spanish skills a lot in a short period of time.

During my last business travel to Spain, I was able to negotiate and have conversations with locals, they understood everything that I was saying. That's something I couldn't do last year.

Totally recommended!

I'm a Certified Interpreter in Spanish (along with Romanian, French, Italian, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California.
Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Visiting Spain and Andorra, and traveling countries on five continents allowed me the affinity of learning more about the culture but also develop preferences for myself. I also learned various accents available in other parts of the world where Spanish is spoken.

Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.

About Isabela
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested student who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).

I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.

I be
lieve in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.

I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration.

I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.

Want to learn conversational Spanish in a fun and interactive way? Or maybe you, or your child, are tired of stumbling through your homework. Either way I am your woman. As a former student that had to learn Spanish as a second language, I share my top tips and make material easier for people of all ages to understand. Lastly, I love to use props and my surroundings to enhance your chances of remembering what you learn!

I have taught Spanish for 6 years- 3 years at middle and 3 years at high school levels. Additionally, I’ve worked with toddlers (and above) privately as well. I look forward to meeting you. ¡Hasta pronto!

About Melinda
I love teaching Spanish!! As a child, I am not going to lie, I felt like it was hard. I’ve been there! However, my college classes taught me so much. Once it clicked for me I never looked back. I changed my major and got my degree in Foreign Langauage.
I like to make songs, go to restaurants and even do some window shopping in the Target Language with my students. The more activities we do, the easier it will be to keep in touch with the language. I have noticed what a difference there is in one-on-one learning versus being in a class full of others. You get the individual attention you need and deserve. A couple classes together and you will notice a change in your attitude towards this amazing subject.
