I took painting lessons about 10 years ago and haven’t done anything since. I brought a 1/2 finished painting. Maggie was great helping me set up and seeing where I was and what I remembered. Then showed me some techniques to help get me going. I’m looking forward to our next lesson.

Maggie is a talented instructor. Helped me tremendously with oil paint color mixing and matching.

Maggie is an exceptional teacher who has her classroom management skills down to a tee. It’s amazing to watch her command a classroom full of children while remaining sweet and never losing her cool. She was a great mentor and I learned a lot about art education from her!

First thing I do before first day of class is send out an enthusiastic email and call shortly after. Briefly discussing and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class.

Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels.

The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop.

Materials are not included.
Materials needed are pencil, paper and a willingness to explore.

Drawing lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals.

Want to learn to paint or draw your favorite scene or photo you took on your last vacation? Interested in learning how to creatively express your own artistic development through your favorite medium? I have been a practicing artist for 20+ years and I love seeing others progress with mediums they are personally interested in. Painting, drawing, photography and ceramic sculpture have been large focuses of my artistic career; coupling that with my love to educate others I'd enjoy the opportunity to talk to see if I could invest my time teaching you some of the skills and techniques I have learned from all around the world.

About Sheldon

I am an experienced artist that has traveled the world, learned from many teachers, observed, utilized tested techniques and have a mentality that I can always be learning. I studied art a little more than average in high school, but graduated with honors in college with several classes of studio l

What a pleasure it was having Sheldon come in and teach our youth! We planned a night of creativity for our youth at our church and Sheldon kindly volunteered and provided materials for our teens to have an awesome experience. He gave expert advise and technique but also embraced everyone creative side. Hope to have another night with Sheldon as our teacher. Super fun night!!

Sheldon was highly recommended and I now see why! He came to our church’s youth night to teach us all about watercolor painting. He was patient, engaging, prepared, professional and so kind! We feel so blessed to have had him as a guest artist and look forward to having him back soon!

Photography has been a lifelong passion for me. As my journey continues, I enjoy working with students and clients on making great images and helping them to achieve their artistic vision. I love to share the tips and tricks that I have learned along the way as both a professional photographer, but also as a teacher and as a student of light.

Experienced photographer that has worked professionally in many areas including travel, fine-art, news, and sports action. I have extensive darkroom experience in both B&W and color and have transitioned those skills to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop in the digital post-processing world. Many of my images have been printed in various publications, on many websites, and in art gallery exhibits. I teach beginner to advanced students on how to take and process great images in private tutor sessions, group lessons, and on workshop field trips. I also custom print images, and scan and retouch/restore old photographs and negatives.

About Nick

My name is Nick and I am a freelance photographer located in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. I am new to the TakeLessons platform but have many years of experience as a photographer and photography teacher. I specialize in travel, fine art and sports action photography. I am a life-long photographe

Hello, my name is Brandie and I specialize in teaching beginner/intermediate photography. I enjoy teaching this subject to those new to the field or those that want to further their hobby. My focus is on fine art photography so I am well rounded in the use of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for post-processing. Photography is an art form and can be utilized in countless ways. Once you master the basics, you can walk away with the confidence to photograph in any setting.

Color, composition, camera settings and of course post processing. I am also highly skilled in photomanipulation and composite work if that is an area you'd like to work on. Photography should be fun, challenging and rewarding, we can bring all three to the classroom to reach your full potential.

About Brandie

I have been a professional photographer for over 9 years and graduated with a degree in photography in 2012. I have a passion for what I do and love to share all the knowledge and experiences I've had over the years. I have a studio west of Chicago that can be used to demonstrate lighting and tech

"I took an online course with Julie last week. Her passion for her craft is truly evident in her teaching. The first part of the course she taught me how to use my extended flash and explained how to compensate for lighting.
In the second part of the lesson, Julie went over my best work and explained how to crop, take the picture better the first time, and how I could improve each shot. Her comments were extremely helpful.
I left the session knowing exactly what I had to do to improve my photograpy. I feel more motivated to be better.
I have taken her classes at SCC, and learned different types of photography such as motion shots, shooting fireworks at night, ocean photography and more.
Thank you Julie for your assistance."
