About Nicole
As a voice teacher and voice coach, I strive to help the student get to where they want to be vocally. For me, singing is something that brings me joy and I hope to be able to share that with you.

It took me a while to realize how much music and singing means to me. While studying something entirely different at the University of Maryland, I began studying voice and realized that it was something that I had a gift for. I fell in love with singing art songs, jazz, and opera arias. And while studying at the University of Maryland, I had the opportunity to work as a voice teacher/ section leader with the women's section of a choir, numerous opportunities to work as a soloist and in a few jazz clubs. I was also involved in dance performances and acted as a dance tutor.

Later, when I was invited to sing in Denver I had the opportun
ity to sing in Little Shop of Horrors and to sing with a women's choir. While studying at the University of Colorado Boulder I began to come into my own and started to let my large sound free. (Which for me was a process. Getting your voice where you want it and to where it is capable is work. But, it is fun work and you're always happy when you have these great moments where you get to where you were hoping you could and that your teacher said you would go at some point.) It was there, at CU Boulder that I got the opportunity to start singing in operas. While in Boulder I sang in The Magic Flute, Sarah McKinnon and as a soloist or recitalist.

Also, while there I worked as an actress in a theater company called the Interactive Theater Project for three years. I thought that by getting involved in that that I would be able to act more effectively while singing. It was fun just doing something where you're just working with the spoken word. I had a wonderful time with them and learned a lot about character work and what it takes to connect to the words in an effective way.

In the past few years, I have been a soloist and recitalist in the Washington, DC area and have sung opera in Pennsylvania with Center Stage Opera. Last year, I sang with Center Stage Opera in the role of Bertha. I had the opportunity to sing and to act at the Kennedy Center a few years ago. Also during that time, I
sang in Aleko, the Die Zauberflöte as the Queen of the Night, Serena in Porgy and Bess, and
sang in Ragtime and sang the role of the Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast.

I am currently working as a soloist, a children's choir director, a chorus member, the director of a recital series, a cantor, and I'm writing monologues and small plays to be performed. I was working as a co-executive producer/casting director for a show that is on Amazon Prime as well. I look forward to what the rest of the year will bring.

*** Lesson Details ***
If you're a beginner, I will help you to understand what you need to get through the vocal line with breath and intonation. We will begin by doing vocal exercises and learn a lot about breathing for singing. I want to help you to make more beautiful tones. I will also slowly begin teaching you how to read sheet music and to help you be a more effective listener when it comes to music. I can also help you to become a better communicator as a singer.

For acting, I will help you to learn how to develop characters and bring the writer's words to life. We will begin by seeing what sort of subjects or genres interest you and what you are doing with those words now, and how you can delve deeper into making the world of the characters something more flushed out.

For beginning piano: I will teach you to learn how the piano is set up, teaching you to read sheet music, beginning theory and to play songs. Something beyond nursery rhymes.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Inside my home studio, I have music, a music stand, chairs, WiFi, a computer, a laptop, a keyboard, a microphone, a metronome, a microphone, an amp/large speaker, and a sofa.

*** Specialties ***
For voice, I would say that my focus is on classical voice. I also sing jazz, gospel and musical theater. For acting, I have done both improvisational and regular scripted plays.

I have taught students with special needs, and as someone with a twin sister with special needs, I am open to teaching students with special needs.

It was my daughter's first contact with professional acting.
She has been talking about being an actress for quite a while now, so we decided to let her take a few lessons to see if she likes it.
Ollie was really comprehensive of our needs and made us see the big picture of that world... just what we needed, to start walking into that direction on the right path.
My daughter had a wonderful time with Ollie.

I booked 4 acting sessions with Ms. Ollie for my daughter. Ms. Ollie did a phenomenal job starting from scratch, coaching my daughter for her up coming audition. My daughter had no acting experience, she was shy, and soft spoken but in just 4 short days, Ms. Ollie turned her into a confident, outspoken young actress. My daughter nailed her audition thanks to Ollie!! I will highly recommend her as your acting coach.

I am a professional singer from Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Musicology, specializing in Classical Voice Performance.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. My versatility, experience, and formal training help me to make the learning experience easy, stress-free and fun.Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages mostly beginner piano. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the
student.

My personal passion is Jazz music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician! Currently, I sing for two different Big Bands that gig around Winchester, VA. gigging regularly & produce artists for their own projects. I spent much of the past 7 years performing and touring Colorado, Alaska, and now Virginia.

I am a professional actor with a love for teaching!
I just graduated from Elon University with a BFA in acting in May of 2018.
I have been acting since I was five years old and have a great love for the art of theatre and film!
I am especially knowledgeable and skilled in the world of college auditions. After going through the process myself, taking a great deal of audition classes, and assisting with auditions at Elon, I have developed unmatchable skills in the college audition process.
Working with me I will find you the perfect material, help develope your type, go through typical college audition pitfalls, coach your monologues, practice interviewing and teach you skills from different acting techniques ( such as Stanislavski, Meisner, Chekhov, and practical aesthetics)
I would love to work with you and help you get into the colleg

I am a professional actress in the Washington, DC area. I am currently apart of the Teaching Artist company at the Smithsonian Institutes Discovery Theater. As a recent graduate at Point Park University with a BFA in Acting, my goal is to give back through my art. As an instructor it is my intention to encourage the student to use the art as a tool for how to navigate through the world.

My acting students become more aware of their bodies and minds, which helps them become more aware in the world around them. It is not solely about the words that are "memorized" in a play, however it is about the internal experience each character has, and ultimately how it changes the actor.

Using the combined methods of Stanislavsky, Meisner, and Michael Chekhov, I will aid my students to freedom in their imaginations, body and mind!

About Hannah
Dance has been a part of my life for 20 years! I began lessons when I was in kindergarten and it was love at first sight. I danced and competed through high school but a series of injuries kept me from pursuing a professional career in college. Instead, I pursued a degree in history while teaching for a local competition studio. My dancers frequently placed top 10 in the national circuit and my choreography and costume designs received several awards.

During college, I discovered theatre and began to merge my love of self-expression and story telling with the dance technique I had practiced for so long. This helped me discover a unique and personalized style of choreography that gave me opportunity to help my students develop not only a love of dance, but also confidence, healthy self-expression, and communication skills.

After
college, I worked towards my MA in War, Media, and Society while continuing to do freelance choreography. After moving to DC in 2016 to work as a legislative assistant, I missed dance too much and knew I needed to find a way to fit it into my life! I began teaching private ballet and creative movement classes for my first client and absolutely loved being able to share my knowledge and love for this art form on a one-on-one basis with my students.

I have 5 years of experience teaching beginner ballet and creative movement, and 4 years teaching the following: ballet for ages 5-18, pointe for ages 13-18, jazz & musical theatre for ages 5-18, and tap for ages 5-12. I have a wide variety of choreography experience for solo, duet, trio, small, and large groups of all ages in ballet, pointe, contemporary, and character jazz.

I believe teaching dance is so much more than pointing toes and making beautiful lines (although those things are certainly important). I want to help my students develop important life skills, communicate feelings through movement, and learn to use the art of dance as a healthy outlet for stress and communication.

Miss Hannah is an excellent dance instructor. She was my daughter's ballet teacher for four years. She was also responsible for some of our competitive dance team's choreography. The dance team received many awards because of her dedication to them. My daughter is now a member of her college dance team. She could not have gone on to compete at the college level without teachers like Miss Hannah and the other instructors at our dance studio.

I am an award-winning, working actor with over 10 years professional stage and screen experience in classics to world premiere plays at Ford's Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Woolly Mammoth, Kansas City Rep, SIgnature Theatre, Round House, Center Stage, and Everyman Theatre (Company Member), with awards including Best Actor at the Reel Indpendent Extravaganza in DC for the feature film LAST NIGHT, now streaming on Amazon, Best Supporting actor at NOVA Fest in Virginia for the short film RUMINATION, and the Helen Hayes Best Ensemble for WHO's AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? at Ford's Theatre.

My approach is to immediately dive in with an unmemorized text--a monologue, short scene, poem, clipping, citation, phone book--and learn script analysis, memorization, character intention, action, persona, need, with an emphasis on developing a method unique
to you, the actor.

Each lesson will be tailored towards your instinctual responses to direction. I believe acting is a very vulnerable art if done right, and creative expression can most often be found in a safe environment for risk through play. Ultimately my classes are to shape you, as the actor, with an insight into why that is important both artistically and psychologically.

Further lessons will also include practical approaches to the business aspects of an actor's career, actor health both physically and mentally, and college audition prep.
