Personalized classes centered around students needs and requirements.

About Rene
Knowing at the age of 5 that music was my life, by being brought up surrounded by praise music and gospel, my early exposure to music helped me to find every Instrument and style just my thing! I wanted to play everything and learn all aspects of music. I started with singing in the children's choir and then developed into piano and music theory. At the age of 12 I began to learn classical guitar, and at 15 took on various styles like Flamenco, Jazz and Rock. I graduated from High School having played in the school band achieving recognition In national Institutions Like IAJE (International Association for Jazz Education) and state band finals. I was also composing from a very early age, and at 18 released my first album (self-titled) which can still be heard and purchased today through various music outlets, since i have released over 15
albums with various ensembles and bands. In college I already knew from my previous experience that I wanted to teach and pass on the joy that music brought to my life. I studied Music Theory and Jazz and finished my degree in Music Education. I have been teaching all in all for about 14 yrs. And I have enjoyed every minute I have spent with my students learning as much from them, as them from me. I am looking forward to meeting new and eager students who really want to bring their inner music out to share with the rest of us music aficionados! and develop their skills to the peak of their abilities.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching method ranges depending on the student. I believe in my experience that everyone learns differently, therefore everyone develops at their own pace. I try to find key strengths in each student and expose this to their advantage, using their abilities to further develop their skills, this method has shown the most promising results and students usually find themselves playing and performing just a couple of months after their first lessons. Part of my method involves a lot of performance and recital opportunities to help break any fears and inhibitions a student may bring with them. Music is about sharing, so an early exposure to this method helps to strengthen and stabilize a core acceptance of a students style and path, giving them and those close to them a very clear picture of their development and achievements.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Has all instruments at both his home and college studio

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson material, song charts and a progression scale. I require student to have an Instrument and recommended technique literature.

*** Specialties ***
My classical training began in High School with Influences in Segovia, and Romero I studied classical for 4 yrs. and trained in Jazz and Improvisation with performances In Big Band and group ensemble. Also sang and played in the school gospel choir.

****Personal Statement*****

If you needed a reason

There is no question that music touches us instantly and activates images, emotions and memories that linger with us throughout our lives. As a casual listener or an obsessive music elitist, there are times in our lives when we get blown away by a sound so unique our entire body vibrates and resonates with the touch of something out of this world. I can honestly say when this happens to me I feel as close to a spiritual connection than anything I have experienced otherwise. I believe it is these exact events that have triggered my need to be completely involved in the making, performing and consuming of music. The creative process, to me, is the single obvious reason we exist in this world. We create and share, learn and interpret, build on previous ideas and inspire others to perfect upon this process. It is no doubt a very humbling experience to realize you are part of it all. During this process you come to realize how important you are as an Individual, how there is no other vessel like you in this world, nor has there ever been or ever will. You are here now and your voice, your talent, your gift is an instrument to the great choir of the human spirit. No one but you can relate this, a reason to be, to create, to give.

I have helped over 50 children in a 4-month period of time to move up one level in reading while using this program. Along with the dedication of the child, parent partnering, and my fun reading curriculums can help a child succeed in the area of reading. These experiences ignited me to open up
my own business to teach children who have a desire to become the Performing Artist of their dreams, and or a Confident Reader.

Experience:
*Over 15 years of experience teaching children.
*Over 15 years of experience as a Performer in the entertainment business.

From at least the first grade up through higher education, you're going to have to read. But what if you're not good at it? Or you just don't like it? Let me help you get comfortable with reading.

About Susan
Acting – I have taught all kinds of acting, including Audition Skills, Shakespeare, Stage, Film & TV, Dramatic, Comedic, whatever. I also have quite a bit of experience performing in all those arenas. I have a relationship with one of the best management agencies in the area, so my students get fast-tracked with her.

Voice – Anyone can sing. If you want to and have always thought you couldn't, you will be delighted when I prove you wrong. Training for the voice is pretty much the same, whatever style you are interested in. Then I'll coach you in your chosen style and we'll pick songs you like.

Singing beautifully is not enough. I can't tell you how many times I heard in grad school "beautiful voices are a dime a dozen." I will teach you how to OWN the song. That's what keeps people coming back.

Speaking – Every public spe
aker I know has lost their voice at some point, but not from talking too much. It's because they don't know how to use their voice properly. Learn that, and you need never lose your voice to over-use. That's easy to teach.

Writing – I have been a professional writer and editor for over eight years, with many books, articles, posts, newsletters, etc. to my name. I use – and teach – practical grammar, not just correct grammar. I can also help you make your words more powerful.

I feel that soon enough I'll be able to audition for roles in film and television. If you live in the Baltimore area and are interested in voice acting or any acting in general. I did not know what to expect when I signed up to take classes with Susan. I decided to take classes with her for two reasons: Her studio is not far from me and 2, the good reviews left by her clients. All I wanted was to learn the fundamentals and techniques about acting. Susan was excellent and very patient. She offered water in each lesson, which is also very kind. Her interpersonal connection brings a sense of comfort. Her studio is very neat and welcoming. I do not have regrets in my selections and I know you won't be disappointed too.

I've had a book published and have written for a multi-national newspaper. I also got A grades right up until I finished college with English Literature and Creative Writing. I also have done numerous public speaking engagements and have studied acting and theatre with A grades all the way through college.

My style of teaching is very relaxed and informal, I want students to feel they can be equals with me, and gain confidence and be proud of their work. I set homework but I also encourage students to get creative in their own time and to show initiative! Reading is vital to growing your knowledge and also for confidence and speaking in public.

Lessons can involve looking at literature and different styles of writing, as well as finding something that sparks the imagination and interest. I work especially well with young teens and pre-teens, as well as those who are looking to further their reading skills.

I also look at Shakespeare and modern plays, as well as screenplays, ...

Beginning Readers: phonemic awareness; phonics; letter-sound correlations and learning to decode.

Advanced Readers: summarizing; finding the main ideas, supporting facts, and details; sequencing; relating background knowledge; making inferences; drawing conclusions; comparing and contrasting; distinguishing between fact and opinion; self-questioning and problem-solving.

About Analita
I am a native, English-speaking teacher, certified in both Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/ESL), and English Language Arts (ELA-writing and literature). My combined teaching experience is 20 years, and I have been teaching both here in the USA and abroad (Japan and Colombia, South America). I have been working in ESL for 13 years, and before doing this I taught English writing and literature at a public, magnet, high school for gifted and talented students in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey called Dr. Ronald McNair Academic High School. These students typically graduate to some of the most well-respected learning institutions in the world, such as Harvard and Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) in Massachusetts.

My ESL teaching experience includes having worked with all ages, English levels and with quit
e a few nationalities. For example, in Japan, I worked with kindergartners to senior-level executives at the Toshiba headquarters in Kitakami City, Iwate-ken. And in Bogota, Colombia, I taught Spanish-speaking, business professionals how to acquire the levels of English necessary for their careers. Some of the industries they come from include accounting, oil and gas, hospitality and tourism and government.

Before working with these adults in Bogota, I worked at an international, bi-lingual school for 1 year, called Anglo-Colombiano, teaching English writing and literature to high school students. At this school, too, the students graduate to the same level of schools as McNair students, in addition to other similar schools found in Canada and Europe.

When I teach ESL, I use the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, because it is highly interactive and facilitates student communication. In other words it demands that students get a lot of practice in all of the 4 English language skills. In conjunction with CLT, I guide my students towards the use of purposeful, authentic language that is used in daily communication, whether it be for academic or professional purposes (task-based language teaching and learning).

In addition to teaching the 4 English language skills, I also prepare students to sit the IELTS's exams -- both the academic and the general training. Some of my students live throughout the United States and others live outside of the country.

I am also a member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), based in Faversham, Kent, England, and of TESOL International, based in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.
