Chelsea is a tremendous teacher, with sympathy and patience for my absurd schedule and difficulty reading music.

I had a really great time and she explained so much to me that I wasn't really clear on.

I needed last minute coaching for an upcoming audition and was feeling unprepared and frazzled. Chelsea easily knew what I needed. She made recommendations, was wonderfully engaging, and her insight and ear highlighted some important tweaks that I would have overlooked in my haste to prepare. After just one session I felt clearer, calmer, and considerably more confident. Bonus: Chelsea is incredibly kind, fun to work with and makes you feel you already know one another. I've been teaching piano for over 13 years. I use Alfred's Premier Piano Courses levels 1 - 6 for children. For adults I use Alfred's Lesson Book 1 - 3. My teaching goals for all my students are to enable them to read and make music so that they could experience the joy of journeying in the realm of musical sounds.
My philosophy in teaching piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once a person learns the mechanism of driving so many possibilities open for the person to enjoy trips to many places that bring pleasures that destiny could offer. In some ways, playing the piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once the mechanism of making music is mastered, the possibilities of making journeys of musical sound is endless.

Very knowledgable and enthusiastic teacher. He has a way about him that makes the lesson exciting.

Mr Yakov is very pleasant, patient and professional. He makes learning fun. One of my daughters is very shy and particular. I was concerned for her first violin. But she ended up loving the lesson and the instructor. We did some lessons online and at his studio. During the online lesson, the connection with our internet was horrible. He could hear her playing but she couldn't hear him. Yet, patiently, he got creative and taught the lesson with my daughter through chat. The environment of the studio is comfortable. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. That left me with a great impression of him. We look forward to more lessons with him for as long as we can.
Thanks Mr Yakov!!!

"What makes a great teacher is not only loving what you do, but also loving the people you're teaching. Jordan D. has a big passion for music, and a big heart for equipping people for the musical endeavors ahead of them. He is always encouraging and always positive. Even if I feel like I could have done better, he celebrates me where I am, which has taught me to have more confidence while singing, playing guitar or charango, and even glockenspiel. "Jessica is an amazing teacher! She not only understands all the technicalities behind singing but she works to your strengths and helps you cultivate both your inner and outer voice! I felt very comfortable with her and even got emotional a few times as it was such a powerful experience to be able to be vulnerable and engage in something I love so much. Jessica is the perfect mix between professional and experiential where you'll learn skills but you will also have fun doing it. I highly recommend Jessica for your musical needs. I look forward to my future sessions!! It also helps she is incredibly talented! An all around win and positive experience :)!"

"Ian is by far the best voice teacher whom I have ever had. He really listens to his student, which is the first and best pedagogical technique. With him, I have learned to sing repertoire ranging from musical theater to opera, and I know that every skill I learn from him is transferable to whatever I want to sing. By studying with Ian, I have made more progress in my technique and my artistry within a shorter amount of time than I ever have before. Moreover, I have enjoyed music more and more with every lesson. I highly recommend this teacher!"
