A Better Way to Learn
Teaching since 1997
BS in Music Education, K-12 from West Chester Universtity, West Chester, PA
My approach is fun, simple, and easy to understand. I focus on getting a strong foundation and excellent first experience with music. The child will be given a lesson and theory book to work from, but will also be encouraged to sing music they personally like. This keeps the child motivated to practice and adds an element of fun! These songs can then be used in our recitals, for auditions, or put in their personal repertoire book.
I have also successfully prepared many students for their Cab Calloway School for the Arts auditions and have made it in.

Music iPortal started in 2013 as a small home studio teaching local students in the neighborhood. Currently Jamil Gaston has two studios. A Piano Studio in Aberdeen and a Recording Studio in Baltimore.
I have three children myself and my joy for teaching started 10 years ago when I started teaching my oldest at 3 years old and now in middle school watching her not only play piano but also in band, all from listening to her dad. I have played for my church, directed multiple choirs from youth to s

I've been teaching piano for over 13 years. I use Alfred's Premier Piano Courses levels 1 - 6 for children. For adults I use Alfred's Lesson Book 1 - 3. My teaching goals for all my students are to enable them to read and make music so that they could experience the joy of journeying in the realm of musical sounds.
My philosophy in teaching piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once a person learns the mechanism of driving so many possibilities open for the person to enjoy trips to many places that bring pleasures that destiny could offer. In some ways, playing the piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once the mechanism of making music is mastered, the possibilities of making journeys of musical sound is endless.

In the painting event, we had a large group (~15 people), so it’s very difficult to coordinate. People had different questions every 5 mins, or people asked the same questions, or you had to wait for other people. Sharon was very patient to answer everyone’s questions. We even went overtime but Sharon was very nice that she continued finishing the painting with us.
All my teammates produced very nice paintings! Majority of them have never painted before, but they created beautiful paintings under Sharon’s guidance. Thank you Sharon!"

The best photography lighting is based on several factors, and depends on what type of look you want when it comes to your photos. Natural lighting versus studio lighting brings about two different looks in your photography. We'll be discussing natural lighting, which does not need any equipment. And we'll also discuss the benefits of two styles of studio lighting. The natural lighting of a photo will be much softer and a warmer look while using studio lighting gives your photos a more ov …
