Michelle and Robert are great singing teachers and have helped me grow my voice while teaching me things about singing that I didn't know at all. If you're looking for a teacher, I can 100% guarantee you that going with Michelle and Robert is the right decision. You can thank me later for the advise.
Julie
I am astonished at how my voice has developed working with Michelle and Robert. As a soprano, I had lost so much range. Come to find out, singing incorrectly for about 40 years will do that to you. I had never taken voice lessons prior, so unfortunately, I learned to sing all wrong. Through vocal pedagogy, I now understand healthy and correct singing techniques.
They both have an amazing way of explaining things, and when I have that "a-ha" moment- it is glorious! I've learned more than I ever imagined- I never thought I would ever sing Italian or French! They support exploring different musical styles and genres, and do we ever have fun! It is my weekly therapy, and I am so grateful I found them as my teachers.
I highly recommend them for your mental health, personal development and the pure love of singing.
Hardee
My nine year old son and six year old daughter enjoy learning how to sing with Miss Michelle. I have watched my son and daughter grow from their shyness to becoming more confident performers. It has also inspired my children to become braver with their choices in other areas of their lives. Miss Michelle is a truly gifted teacher who we recommend highly to anyone seeking to become better vocally.

I love the voice, and I love to teach students how to use theirs in a way that they understand what they are doing, and how to make it work reliably for them. I have years of experience teaching voice in both the New York/New Jersey area, as well as the Southern California. During that time I have helped students successfully prepare for amateur and professional auditions, choral auditions, and recitals, concerts, and solos. I am interested in helping students really perform a piece of music, and not just sing the words and the music. I'm excited to hear your voice!

About Anne

I am a graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in Vocal Performance. Since then, I have performed with many opera companies in Southern California, with roles such as Sesto in "Guilio Cesare", Serpina in "La Serva Padrona" and Frasquita in "Carmen." I love opera and musical theater, a

I've been taking lessons with Anne for years. She's accomodating and versatile. The last voice lesson I had with her helped me nail my audition and clean up all the rough edges on the piece I had learned. Needless to say, I got the part!
What I love most about Anne's lessons is her patience when working through something to prefect it. She wants you to perform to the best of your ability. Just as she challenges herself, she challenges you. HIGHLY suggest.

Anne is knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply devoted to her students. She has a clarity about the way she explains vocal concepts that makes it very accessible. She also had a beautiful voice and is an excellent musician and performer.

"I'm almost afraid to write this review lest Asuka's schedule gets totally filled with new students:) I started lessons with Asuka Nov 22 as a beginner and by January 15 the notes I could sing increased by an octave.

My high C/C6 came by early December, a couple of weeks after starting with Asuka. Some of this is my voice type, but I believe anyone who works with Asuka will see improvement.

I am taking lessons with a well-regarded pop teacher from the same time period and I've developed almost entirely from Asuka's lessons vs the other teacher, and quickly too with consistent practice. What Asuka teachers carries over to non-classical singing also.

Asuka is not rigid in her approach, thankfully, and she is so nice about the million things beginner singers can correct. I don't feel embarassed singing in front of her because she is non-judgmental.

I did some online lessons when she was traveling, and I got just as much out of them so even if I leave New York I will continue working with her."

"To say that my opera lessons with Margo have been miraculous would be an understatement. My family and friends had repeatedly encouraged me to pursue my singing and I wrote it off as hyperbole. When I finally decided to take it seriously I was afraid I was too old to start pursuing a career in the arts. Margo explained to me that some performers can be in their 30s or 40s before reaching full vocal maturity. She immediately took me under her wing which has resulted in near perfect pitch. Under her tutelage I have learned to evoke emotion from my audience thru both song and dramatization. Needless to say, her being multi-lingual has no doubt made her uniquely qualified to do so. If you want a disciplined, dedicated, no nonsense instructor, call her. You won't be disappointed."

8 Beautiful Opera Arias for Beginner Singers

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
