As a teacher, my purpose above all is to unlock a student’s true potential, whether it be musical of otherwise. I do not believe in trying to make or force a particular sound with any student. When proper technique is instilled the voice will go in the direction it is meant with freedom and ease. My goal is to guide the student along their journey of self-discovery. My motto is “if you can feel it, you can repeat it”. What I mean by this is when a student experiences the unique sensation of using the breath efficiently or producing sound without tension a light bulb turns on and they now have a better chance of continuing proper technique. In order to help students feel these sensations in the body that are necessary for singing I use various physical exercises to help create more body awareness. For singers our instrument is our body, and everyone’s body is uniquely their own. I have found every student has his or her own method of learning, whether that is visual, aural, ...

Learn basic piano and keyboard techniques, as well as modern improvisation skills and song arrangement. Need to learn how to read a chord chart? Want to mimic an instrumental from a studio recording? What should the keyboardist play during a guitar heavy, upbeat worship jam? Jenna can help.

Jenna is a seasoned songwriter and the Worship Director at a Vineyard Church in Billings, MT. She grew up playing classical piano, but her world opened up when she learned how to move through popular chord progressions and stopped using sheet music. Jenna has over a decade of experience teaching both piano and guitar for worship.

About Jenna

I am the Worship Director at a Vineyard church in Billings, Montana, and have my own virtual Spiritual Direction practice (a form of pastoral care). I lead worship from both piano and guitar (though not at the same time!) and write songs and liturgy for my church and the larger worship community. I

I have had ten years of piano lessons prior to meeting Jenna, but she has given me tools to continue improving on my own! She is incredible at assessing where a student is and taking them to their own next level whether that be reading music, to different chording rhythms and styles, to directing a band. I am learning so much with each session with Jenna. Highly recommend!

I learned to pay saxophone back at college and I would love to teach someone else this cool instrument on beginner basis.

About Yoana

My name is Yoana Hilt and music is my passion. I've been playing since I was 12 years old and truly believe that a life filled with music is a life most enriched. What a delight it is to have Yoana as a music teacher for both of my children. She has the perfect blend of skill training and musical passion that she passes on to them. They not only are learning how to master the songs with excellent technique, but more importantly, she teaches them how to truly feel and understand the music. She adds in fun and even a little competition (to make tracking practice hours more like a game) and is always smiling and full of joy which makes them look forward to lessons. As a parent, I have full confidence that she is giving her whole heart to my children throughout their weekly sessions. I love how much she pushes and stretches them, all while loving and encouraging them at the same time. We look forward to many more years learning from her.
Anna
Yoana is so patient with our family and takes the time to notice individual strengths of my children. She takes into account each student's interests and guides and coaches them toward goals they are invested in. She uses a curricula that is classic and gets beautiful results! Yoana is such an amazing cheerleader for her students and her kindness and joy in supporting them is contagious. With her encouragement and strong teaching skill, students are confident and equipped to play music they love.
Kristina
Yoana has a wonderful gift for teaching flute and inspiring enthusiasm in her students. My daughter loves learning from her and enjoys her lessons immensely.

Awesome teacher. Very knowledgeable and fun
Brandon
Matthew is an excellent teacher with a ton of patience, as well. Coming into our first lesson, I had some beginner experience, but it had been a while since I actively played the piano. His lessons focus on assuring that the fundamentals are understood, then progressively building into more difficult pieces and even some theory. I would definitely recommend, as I am still taking lessons weekly!

"I have been taking violin lessons from Speedy for almost 10 years, and I cannot describe how much I have improved. He is a patient, funny, and kind individual who truly enjoys teaching music, as he teaches young seven-year-old's (like I was) and adults alike. I just recently began taking Skype lessons with Speedy, and I enjoy and learn from lessons as much now as I did when I took lessons in person. Speedy is profoundly organized, as he often times remembers what we worked on during the previous lesson better than I do. I would also like to accredit him for flexibility when I have a schedule conflict or cannot make the lesson. I genuinely do think that you come across a teacher like Speedy once in a blue moon."

"I was very impressed, so much that I started taking piano lessons from him. Carlos has all this curriculum and books and media that he has developed. Very good stuff! I still use his book on Open Jazz Voicings. I haven't even finished a third of the book and still find new uses every day when I play. I also found useful the way Carlos had me visualize intervals on the keyboard in order to play in all different keys. He also helped me with my ears and reading music."

He taught them technic, theory and also let my kids choose some fun songs that they wanted to play. He made sure the kids were having fun even though they did have to practice and played some classical songs. My kids have improved alot since they started taking too!"
