I've played cello for twenty years now, and I've been playing professionally for the past seven years. I've played the cello for traditional orchestras, Baroque ensembles, rock and pop bands, singers, and songwriters. This experience includes live performances and recording sessions.

I attended three different universities as I earned my Bachelor of Music degree. Getting the perspective of multiple professors has enriched my education and made me a better cellist.

About Chris

I'm a professional musician, with experience playing in orchestras, jazz bands, rock bands, and many other settings. This includes live performances and studio recording sessions. Whether you're just starting out, or trying to prepare for a college audition, I am here to help!

Hello! I am a Master's Cello Performance student at The Peabody Institute of Music. I was a late starter at the cello, having begun serious studies at the age of 14 and playing Double Bass beforehand for 4 years. Therefore, I had to become a musical "detective" so to speak and figure out a lot of things for myself in great detail. This is why teaching has become one of my passions in life. I have taught ages 10-31 and am constantly fascinated by how I can help all my students reach their fullest potential on and away from the cello. We will talk about the technical aspects of the cello in a way that serves the music, discuss anything and everything music related and have a lot of fun doing it! Which brings me to my final point: Music is made for pleasure, it is a healing art form, it is a way to expressive the deepest things in your heart and it is a life long friend which will teach you about life, what being human being is all about and it will reward you with a beauty in which you

Alex was my teacher for 2 years. His passion for music and the cello are infectious. He pushed me when I needed to be pushed (even if I didn't think I did). He was patient and flexible with my questions. He taught me not just about proper form, but mindset; how to practice, how to prepare. He is a wonderful teacher.

"I took up the cello in my late 20's and am finally back taking lessons after a few years, so I had developed a lot of bad playing habits. Jessica really helped to deconstruct my technique and is helping me rebuild a stronger foundation on which to perform. She is also dependable regarding emailing and texting when needed. "Nader has taught cello to my 10 year old son, Caleb for the last 2 years. During in this time, Caleb has made amazing progress. Nader challenges Caleb in a way that builds excitement for music and confidence to excel at his instrument. I can imagine that music lessons and practice can become a chore, but Nader's patience, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and method of teaching keeps Caleb engaged and excited to play the cello. Caleb has truly benefited from the way that Nader engages him each and every time they meet. Nader is a very good listener so that Caleb always feels heard. His questions and concerns are addressed. I give Nader my highest recommendation not only because Caleb has made such good progress, but also because Nader has made the cello very rewarding and enjoyable for Caleb."
