Music lessons should be fun, encouraging and full of music that you love. They are an opportunity to learn something new, show your improvement, and receive correction, encouragement and praise. Students and instructors should play together frequently throughout and the time should be balanced with theory, technique and exercises, sight-reading, and performance and seasoned with introductions to a variety of music and styles. I like to encourage students to play because they love to play and to find the music that is an integral part of their soul, then to share that with others through performance. What do you want to do with or gain from your music? We will work toward your goals.

About Jennifer

Music is a huge part of my life and I love sharing that with others. Helping and seeing others discover and develop their talents and find joy in music is something I love. I come from a musical family and have been singing and playing the piano since before I can remember. Flute (and piccolo) l

I incorporate a lot in piano lessons such as chords, technique, memorization, music reading, music theory, ear training and more. I like using both lesson books and music that the individual picks out to keep students interest and engagement. I use many materials throughout lessons. I like to incorporate the fundamentals of music theory so that the student understands the concepts of music, not only learning to read sheet music. I keep lessons fun and engaging and I teach each student what they want to learn. I consistently check in with students progress and continue to take students to the next level. Students will learn how to practice efficiently, and learn patience in the process. I continually help students form good practice habits and show them effective ways to practice.

About Lynzi

I am like a proud mama when it comes to my students. I have been teaching online and in person for 8 years now and I have seen all of my students grow and accomplish so many great things. I've been playing piano since 1989 it's a great instrument, I love it sound and all the possibilities that it brings to a musician.... some people think it's easy to play but not so, because the one and only contact you have with this big instrument are the tip of your fingers... and you have to send all your information (feelings...) through this tiny part of your body.... it's not easy... but it might be fun and without any doubt it will be worth it....

Piano is my primary instrument and I've been playing for 15 years. I've had mentors like Larry Goldings (John Mayer) Clifford Carter (James Taylor and Idina Menzel) Jim Beard (Steely Dan) and Jeff Young (Jackson Browne). Together we can look at harmony, voicings, pop, jazz, r&b and all emotional playing styles. After a few lessons you'll be able to play your favorite songs, and develop your ear training, so you can play any song you hear. Piano is the mother of all instruments and is the best way to deepen your musical knowledge and bring joy to anyone you meet with the universal language of music.

About Taylor

Aloha. My name is Taylor. I'm 24 and have been seriously playing the ukulele for 10 years. Some would consider "serious" and "ukulele" an oxymoron, but to me, ukulele can be one of the most emotional and endearing instruments. Because my primary instrument is piano I bring all of my harmonic and th

"At 37 years old I decided I wanted my life long dream of learning to play piano to become a reality. I met Kelly and I immediately liked her. The first classes were not easy: my hands could not find any key, the notes seemed all sound at the wrong moment! But with her patience, her good humor, her experience in teaching adults...It all fell into place after just a few sessions.
She is professional, serious, demanding but flexible, respectful of the busy life of the student.
I would definitively recommend her if you are looking into learning or improving you piano skills."

"I've taken 3 lessons with Candida and I am blown away. I started taking lessons when I was a child, but had given up the instrument going into adulthood. Candida has helped awaken a love for music that I never knew I had. We are studying technique, music theory, and learning methods which are allowing me to not only learn faster, but appreciate and understand the progress that I am making. This multiples the enjoyment that I am getting from the instrument. Candida also does a good job of motivating you and contextualizing your progress and your goals. I am very excited that I am taking lessons with her!"

4 Easy Steps to Playing Piano By Ear

Want to try playing piano by ear? Follow these four simple steps from Newport Beach, CA teacher Patricia S. and you'll be playing your favorite songs in no time...   Ear training doesn't need to be difficult or boring. To start, find a song with a good melody, and one that isn't too fast. Pick a slow song or …
