I remember having trouble myself with some prealgebra and algebra concepts in the 8th grade. With a little after school help from my teacher, I was back on track and did well. In high school, most of my classmates had to start with high school level algebra as freshmen. I tested out and was able to go straight to geometry.

Later in life, I was teaching these same skills to young and older adults who were studying to earn their GED. The math section of the GED is where most do poorly and I'm proud to say that over 50 of my GED prep students received their Maryland State High School Diplomas!

I am truly enjoying learning how to sew with Rosemary as my teacher. So far, I have seen a blouse and a skirt that I need to add finishing touches on. I am going to sign up for more lessons. I want to perfect the art of sewing.

Learn the sounds that letters make and how to blend them together with vowels. This is extremely important for those coming from another country whose letters may sound different. From the youngest student to the oldest a good grasp of phonics is important when learning to read, speak or write any language!

This guy did not even show up for the first scheduled class. The class was scheduled 2 weeks before and I sent a text message to remind 2 days before the scheduled day. He sent an email 30 mins before the class to tell me he is not coming. Dd not even have the courtesy to call.

Take control of your personal finances! In this class we will go over budgeting tips and how to save money without the stress of living paycheck to paycheck, not knowing how much you have left in your bank account at the end of the month. We will go over your personal income and expenses creating a system that works for you. Knowing a system that works will give you peace of mind and more control when it comes to your spending.

About Caitlin

What they SHOULD teach in school: how to budget your personal finances and build your credit. What they DON'T teach in school: how to budget your personal finances and build your credit. I am currently working as a personal credit consultant and have previously worked in the banking industry.

My lesson with Caitlin was very helpful in understanding budgeting and my own finances. We used the time to evaluate my personal finances and identify areas for change. She made helpful recommendations and assessments.
I prepared for the lesson by sending her a list of expenses and income.
I would highly recommend her. :)

"I have the privilege of knowing Maurice for over 20 years, from when I was a student to when I myself became an educator. His great patience, love for knowledge and passion for teaching have proven to be invaluable assets which make him one of the best educators I've met. His genuine respect and caring for every student is inestimable, and is his secret to successfully imparting the lesson at hand."

"With a few painless lessons, Chris was able to raise my son's ACT scores significantly. Most impressively, he taught him a few easy strategies for the reading section, which had been his weakest area, which resulted in a 34 on that section. We were very pleased - it was time and money well spent."

"Colin helped me through the last semester of IB Calculus. He would email me two days before each lesson so he was prepared with a relative lesson plan for our hour long weekly session of review. He even created a video explaining a topic I was stuck on and sent it to me after our weekly session. I wouldn’t have gotten an A in the last semester without him. Thanks Colin."

"In our limited time together, Colin effectively helped me to prepare and be ready for the AP Calculus exam. He was able to cover any topic that I had questions on, and in great detail; he always explained each step of every problem thoroughly, not leaving anything out of the picture.

Another thing worth mentioning is Colin's passionate approach to teaching. He would always go about each lesson with unmistakable enthusiasm, showing that even calculus could be fun, if you were willing to see it as so. He was also always willing to go all the way with any problem, even if it went over the time limit; he wanted to make sure that I had no questions or concerns about any topic, no matter how complex it might have been. So, all in all, if you are looking for a suitable calculus tutor, Colin is certainly a very worthy option!"
