About Dovile
I began teaching while studying in Art Institute. My first students were 5 to 7 yr. old kids. It was very challenging, but also very rewarding. I was teaching them skills, they were teaching me patience. Later the age of my students grew, until I ended up teaching the same students I was in the same classes just 6 months ago. Again another challenge. I love challenges and even more I love helping others to overcome them.
My philosophy about teaching is that everybody can learn, it is only the way how we learn is different for different people. Another very important thing - I strive to be creative, respectful and approachable.

Why can’t I leave MORE than five stars?

I’ve wanted to learn lace knitting for so long but it overwhelmed me every time I tried. Simply stated: I’m no longer overwhelmed or fearful of lace knitting!

Patty is patient, detailed and takes the time to make sure the steps make sense instead of just a monkey see monkey do what I do approach. This gives me an actual understanding of what I’m doing and WHY and removed so much of what confused me before.

Patty has a depth of technical knowledge that is fierce. Combine that with her ability to break it down and truly TEACH me what to do and that’s a recipe for pure awesomeness.

I’ve already booked 2 more lessons because um hello.... I need to learn ALL THE THINGS

I taught for Michael's craft stores for a little over a year and then decided to venture out on my own and teach privately until I am able to reach my ultimate goal of owning my own yarn store. My current students say I have a lot of patience and am a joy to learn with. I can teach anywhere from beginner lessons to advanced techniques such as cables, lace and socks.

I find knitting relaxing and therapeutic. Knitters have come to me in tears, frustrated because of how complicated instructions can seem. I don't stop until my client completely understands them and realizes "wow, that wasn't so hard."

About Stephanie
I'm Stephanie and I love knitting. I taught myself to knit while recuperating from a back injury in 2002 and I have been knitting ever since. Its relaxing and therapeutic while at the same time giving you a chance to create something functional and beautiful for family and friends.

Greetings!
I have been knitting for nearly a decade now, and along the way what I’ve learned is that people thrive when they are being encouraged. I believe that every person can learn to knit if they are willing to be patient and gentle with themselves. Knitting is simply a relationship between the brain, the hands, and yarn. I do not like to tell people there is a “right or wrong” way to knit. As long as you get the desired results and are able to translate instructions, that’s great! I am an ambidextrous knitter, meaning I knit English and Continental style (left or right handed knitting). I also love teaching knitters of all ages- especially children or older adults who have never tried to knit before.
Positivity, grace, gentleness, and a positive attitude are what I rely on most heavily to teach. I truly believe that every single person can learn to knit in an hour. I have taught lessons to groups of thirty women at a time in Uganada with only two sets of knitting needles, and ...

About Morgan
Greetings!

My name is Morgan and I have been knitting for nearly a decade now. I believe that knitting is a deeply meditative experience and that it can be an emotionally and mentally healing exercise. Also, there are few things more satisfying than casting off a beautiful piece and wearing it the same day!

I have taught many different age groups, from 7 year olds to retired grandmothers who want to knit for their loved ones. I am an ambidextrous knitter (also called mirror knitting) so I happily teach left or right handed or mirror knitting. I do not like to tell people that they are knitting a wrong or right way, if you get the desired results and can translate a pattern to your understanding, that’s great!

I believe in slow ethical fashion and investing in clothing that will last years and be family heirlooms. My most movi
ng experience with knitting was while on a mission trip in Uganda. I was able to teach 30 women and nearly 50 young ladies/children to knit. It was the experience that cemented for my belief that absolutely anyone can learn to knit when given the time, patience, and supplies needed. This is why I am willing to provide supplies to students who are unable to buy their own. I believe in meeting students where they are at and using only positivity to teach.

My teaching style is to be student lead, hands off, and to discourage negative self talk and doubt. When the teacher behaves like the student is 100% capable, the attitude of the student reflects that confidence. It is my sincerest desire to spread the joys of knitting far and wide. Please join me for a lesson soon!
