As a vocalist trained in Classical, Jazz, and popular styles of music, I have come to understand that the art of singing is inherently a highly emotional, physical and intellectual experience. With precise discipline, motivation and perseverance, music can seemingly fall into place. When these elements are united in preparation for a performance, the voice becomes free and the possibilities seem endless. My goal as a an artist and teacher is to discover these boundless possibilities for myself and therefore my students.

To best do this, I have adopted an adaptive and collaborative style of teaching. At the start of each semester I assess each student’s unique strengths, goals, and expectations. Once this is done I am able to create a personalized lesson plan that will evolve as each student progresses in his or her training. A focus on instilling the foundational skills of discipline, stamina and creativity in accordance with functional voice technique, results in the growth of ...

Kasey is a wonderful teacher. Before taking lessons with Kasey I had to stop singing for more than 5 years due to illness. She was amazing at safely bringing me back to vocal health. I am now able to sing light opera and folk songs even better than I used to. I am impressed with her level of knowledge and she really motivates me to work hard at my craft. She is truly the best teacher that I have ever had and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to be the best singer that they can be.

As a classical, musical theatre, and pop singer, I believe that a classical foundation is the basis of everything, so we begin with this solid foundation. We start with a classical approach when it comes to vocal warm ups and technique. It's like how ballet is the foundation of all dance. Once we have the foundation we will build on that along with whatever style/genre you desire. I will take you through a thorough warm up that consists of breathe support, vocal control, tone, consistency, and flexibility and explain how each warm up translates into the

I noticed immediate improvements in my voice, and the environment he created during lessons made me unafraid to take risks and go farther. My schedule is complex, and Sammy worked with me to find compatible times for class. All in all I am completely satisfied with this service."

"I took vocal lessons to improve my ear and add vocals to my guitar playing. I'm an adult student and don't have any formal musical training. My interest is in classic and modern rock music but also male soloist such as Sinatra.

After being 'school-teachered' by my first instructor I was a little discouraged about my ability to sing, and to get the nuances of musical theory.

Stephen helped build my confidence and got me singling whole songs quickly. He demonstrated simple techniques that enabled me to make the most out of my vocal range while being encouraging every step of the way. He accompanied my singling with piano changing from harmony to chords as I master the harmony and tempo. We added guitar from time to time.

Stephen's experiences as a professional musician gave me some insights in the art and craft of performance which we discussed between pieces.

I highly recommend Stephen."

"I had no formal or informal voice training before taking lessons with Arlys. I knew I was at a point where my voice had to improve if I wanted to continue leading in a musical setting. And I knew that if I was going to take voice lessons, I would go with the best instructor possible.

It was clear to me right away that Arlys was the best choice I could have made for an instructor. I noticed a difference in the way I sang the day after the first lesson. By the third lesson, the way I sang was completely transformed. Now I can hardly describe how much my voice has improved from day one.

Arlys is very helpful and encouraging in every lesson, and really knows her stuff when it comes to singing. She also allows her students to play an instrument while singing if they are interested in that, which is helpful to me.

I would recommend Arlys to people who want to dive into voice lessons for the first time like I did. I would also recommend her to anyone looking to take their singing skills to the next level and beyond."

She has allowed me to try a range of different types of music. My voice is getting stronger and better and my confidence is getting stronger also. I look forward to my lesson ever week. I saw both of my children learn a great deal and progress incredibly quickly under his expert direction and instruction. He is patient but driven and pushes his students to excel, getting great results. He also makes learning fun, so they enjoy learning as they go which helps keep them motivated. I would highly recommend Tony for anyone interested in learning more about music or for any type of music lessons. He is an exceptional teacher."

"If you're looking for the best...

When Megan was in PA, she first came and introduced herself to my music class. When I decided it was time to find a teacher to help me with college auditions and material, I contacted her immediately. When we began, I was timid and unaware of how I could use my voice. Her teaching techniques adapted to my learning style. She used visual examples to help develop my breathing, my vowels, and other necessities for singing. I have become such a better singer because of the lessons I had with her. The experience she has is priceless. Taking lessons with Megan was the best choice for me and my future college career."

4 Must-Read Summer Stock Theatre Audition Tips for Singers

Thinking of auditioning for summer stock theatre in your area? Here, voice and acting teacher Liz T. shares her tips for audition success...   Summer stock theatre is a tradition that started in the 1920s, in which talented actors, singers, and dancers from the big city would perform and work on their craft for an entire summer at a local theater, very common in New England and the Midwest. Today, summer stock is still alive and thriving, and is one of the most rewarding experiences as …
