It is truly unfortunate that so often music theory is presented as a mere collection of naming systems and rules. To me, understanding music with the mind is a key ingredient to becoming an effective and inspired artist. In music lessons, I teach not just how to talk about music but the fascinating complexity of how music operates -- the fundamental principles that illuminate the translation of sound into thoughts and emotional expression.
I offer instruction on a range of topics: composition, improvisation, theory, ear training, arranging, piano performance and more. While providing a broad, synergistic foundation in musical skills and understanding, I also encourage students to pursue their unique interests and inspirations. On the first lesson with a new student, I'll always go over the options for potential areas of study and work with the student to develop an appropriate course of study customized to their needs and interests. For information on the other areas of study that I ...

Celine and I went through a piano lessons book. It was very helpful learning how to learn a song. I got used to reading notes and how to practice. I came from being self taught through youtube and playing by ear for around a year or 2, but I never learned the traditional and more classical way. I really learned a lot from that.
Singing was more exciting because I grew at a pretty fast rate. Celine is really knowledgable about the different ways a person can use their voice and selecting out warm ups to help the growth of a specific singing technique. My voice got stronger and more stable. My head voice is more natural. My singing background was just doing it for fun since I was a kid.
Me and Celine both like kpop and korean music so I sang those as well as some English and Japanese songs. So pretty flexible there. She was able to give me really good recommendations for songs to sing based on my voice.

I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.
I have a Masters in Education as well as having spent many years performing, teaching in one on one and group settings both privately and at music camps and festivals. Learning a new language is an exciting journey. Unfortunately, it’s not something you can master overnight. Becoming fluent in a language like Spanish takes time, practice, and dedication. Once you learn something new, you must continue to use it in order to put it to memory. To improve your Spanish, it’s important to apply the concepts you’re learning directly in practice. Writing is an especially helpful way to do this, since you can develop and practice specific grammatical stru …

Korean drama, or K-drama, are televised drama programs in the Korean language. K-dramas are filmed in South Korea, and the shows are usually in mini-series format. The most popular genres are romantic comedy, action, and fusion science fiction. Although South Korea began shooting televised dramas back in the 1960s, K-drama only recently began catching fire in places like the United States. Watching Korean drama can be very helpful when you're taking Korean lessons, because you c …
