When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Whenever I have been stuck working on vocals to sing with one of my bands or need constructive feedback, Kristina was always an obvious choice to seek out vocal help from. She is great at explaining vocal technique in a way that someone who is new to voice technique can understand. As I mentioned before, she has a lot of experience to draw from, and will help you improve your delivery and performance of the songs you are working on. If you are taking lessons at her house, she is good about creating a comfortable environment for you to be musically open and get the most out of your lesson.
Whatever your musical style/genre preference is or your current skill level, Kristina is a great choice for a vocal teacher. Her lessons and performances are missed in New Orleans!"

I have been taking vocal classes with Mrs. Lawson off and on about 3 years or so. At first I thought being that I have a male voice type and her as a women that she wouldn't really be able to help me. She approved me wrong and exceeded my expectation of her. The thing i love most about Ms.Lawson is that she is very patient and she would make sure you understand the material. She is very knowledgeable and she never puts you down and she helps you gain that confidence within yourself. If you are looking for a vocal teacher I Highly recommend I am now doing things that I couldn't never done and now I'm doing it with ease and skillfully. I give her 2 thumbs up!!!!!!"

Thank you for your time,

Candida has identified the techniques I use when I sing and has suggested ways to improve while also constantly checking in to see how I want my voice to sound. She has been encouraging even during the times I lost motivation, and she has put so much work into our sessions. Candida created a personalized lesson plan with me to help keep my notes and progress organized. She has had to think of many different ways of presenting information to me when I have not understood how to use my voice in new ways, and she has never failed to find a way to explain how to create sound. Candida’s teaching does not simply focus on the voice but focuses on mental and physical wellness that is necessary in order to understand how to use the voice. I would recommend Candida to anyone."
