As a bass opera singer and professional voice over artist, I am dedicated to creating a healthy and beautiful sound with my own voice and the voices of my students. I will not come into our lessons saying there is a single way to sing. In fact, many genres require a great deal of varying vocal techniques and stylized voices. What I will do is help to lay a foundation in healthy singing so that you feel comfortable singing any genre. We will start by ensuring that your breath and vowel placement feels comfortable and from there move into repertoire of your choosing or some that I recommend based upon your interests. You will leave your tenure with me empowered to continue your passion and career for singing long after your lessons end. Music is meant to be shared. Together, we will help you to share the music and passion that you hold so dear.

Soprano Ellie Yeonjung K., completed her Master's of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music in New York studying under Joan Patenaude-Yarnell. Ellie's operatic appearances include Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Dell'arte Opera Emsemble and Lucy in Menotti's TheTelephone at the Korea National Theater.

She was recognized with "great critical acclaim" by Opera News online for the role of Rita in Donizetti's Rita with the Martina Arroyo Foundation.
Other repertoire include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Sophie in Massenet's Werther, and Laetitia in Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief. Ms. K. was also featured in several opera gala concert performances at the KBS Hall in Seoul, Korea as a member of the Kim Ja-Kyung opera company.

I am a school music teacher since 2003, a classical singer, a soprano, and a voice teacher as well. I have a keen interest in every aspect of the human voice, singing, vocal technique, vocal pedagogy and performance. My goal is to help my students to learn about different structures that affect their voice and help them to combine these structures in several ways. My students in this course get different sound qualities that they can use in their favorite repertoire. We learn new ideas, hints, performance issues and we do a lot of vocal exercises, and ear training.

I have a wide range of experience with performing many genres of music and always seek to bring out the best and most confident performance in all of my students. During my Masters at the IU Jacobs School of Music, I specialized in the performance of Baroque vocal repertoire and learned technical exercises that can help increase flexibility of technique in singing any genre of music. My diverse performance experiences across classical, opera, baroque, and musical theater enable me to encourage all students to reach their full potential with their singing voice and confidence that radiates into all areas of their lives.

Over 17+ years of experience in vocal performance, and can teach opera, classical technique, mixed languages, as well as pop singing and the more contemporary "radio-play" music that most people are wanting to sing.

I am a classically trained singer with over ten years of musical training. My voice type is bass-baritone, which only means that I can sing real low. I hold a bachelor's degree in voice performance from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver where I have had the opportunity to work with a wonderful roster of professional opera singers. I've received training in vocal pedagogy, choral singing, and of course opera where my passion lies, and my goal is to share what I've learned with anyone who would like to get acquainted with the artform, albeit with just a few lessons to prepare for a wedding performance or a karaoke hangout with their friends, or for an audition for a music program, and other more serious business. Whatever it is, it would be my pleasure to help you get what you need.
