Transcend the instrument and be able to play with anything. Learn your favorite tunes by ear and on the guitar. That is what I focus on. From beginning rudiments all the way through completely breaking down and conceptualizing the fretboard.
I've been playing for 20 years and have studied jazz at Peabody Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. However, I have played in bluegrass, rock, funk, hip hop and klezmer bands, as well.
I try to create an individual approach for each student because every person learns uniquely. I work with people on skills that apply to music at large, as well as the guitar 🎸. My goal is to help a student learn how to learn on their own, and provide the tools to do so.

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.
Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.

Tomas was able to to give me just that. He also taught me some neat strum patterns that made it fun. My wife really likes the sounds I can make with the guitar after only 2 lessons with Tomas.
On top of that he is a genuinely pleasant person to be around. I can tell he loves teaching people guitar.
My wife really likes the genre of music I am learning because she grew up with it. I like it as well as the finger skills that go along with it.
I believe this experience learning from Tomas will greatly influence the personal music style that I end up developing into."
