I have been teaching dance for over 20 years. I specialize in ballet, tap, and jazz. I also teach lyrical.

About Kay
I have been teaching Piano for 16 years now. I have taught students from age 2 1/2 - Adult. I was self-taught when I was a kid and begun taking formal lessons as a very young adult in my early twenties. I graduated from CSULB with my BA in Music with a concentration on Voice. As a Music major you spend a lot of time at the Piano. I became a member of MTAC in 2004 and a member of Sigma Alpha Iota in 1998. I have a great passion for Music and a bigger passion for the Piano and sharing the wonders of how beautiful the Piano really is.

*** Lesson Details ***
In my opinion, piano is the hardest instrument to learn but the most rewarding. If you can play piano you can pretty much play any instrument. I believe that a piano lesson should be fun. I'm a strict teacher with a smile and a giggle. I push my students to greatness while helping the
m love the piano through the good times and the bad. I'm a very encouraging but honest teacher. I compliment when warranted and I assess not so good performances in an honest but encouraging manner. I always let a student know that though their performance was not their best, they can and will improve. It's always only a matter of time. I use the Schaum and Nevin series depending on the student's personality. I teach Classical and Pop Music. It's important for a student to learn the Classics just as important as it is for them to play things they like. I find the happy balance between the two. I teach Beginning to Intermediate levels. I also like to incorporate Music theory into the lessons because understanding the mechanics of Music helps make playing and creating Music much easier to accomplish. A typical lesson will start off with a hand drill warm up. We then will move on to the lesson book and repertoire. Theory will be assigned as homework. I look it over at the beginning of the lesson and discuss it and answer any questions in the last five minutes of class. Baby lessons go as followed: 15 mins. of play time and 15 mins of Music theory. I like to keep structure in my lessons but sprinkle a little joy and laughter to keep the atmosphere light. It makes for a much more attentive Piano student.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to have a Piano or Keyboard of some sort. I may provide music on occasion.

*** Specialties ***
Classic and Pop

I have been teaching dance for about 4 years now. I have taught ages 3 to 20 years old. I have danced since I was 4. I also did gymnastics. I do not have a dance room in my house, and my classroom is occupied, so for dance, it would have to be at another location. I teach different styles. I prefer to teach elementary/middle school students. I do enjoy young children. It is hard for them to focus. My goal is for the dance student to feel confident while dancing, and learn dance technique.

About Meagan

It was my daughter's first contact with professional acting.
She has been talking about being an actress for quite a while now, so we decided to let her take a few lessons to see if she likes it.
Ollie was really comprehensive of our needs and made us see the big picture of that world... just what we needed, to start walking into that direction on the right path.
My daughter had a wonderful time with Ollie.

I booked 4 acting sessions with Ms. Ollie for my daughter. Ms. Ollie did a phenomenal job starting from scratch, coaching my daughter for her up coming audition. My daughter had no acting experience, she was shy, and soft spoken but in just 4 short days, Ms. Ollie turned her into a confident, outspoken young actress. My daughter nailed her audition thanks to Ollie!! I will highly recommend her as your acting coach.

I have had experience in many different types of dance over the last 30 years. I love dance of any kind and love to pass that on to my students! I try very hard to make my lessons specific to the needs of each student not only in what I teach, but in how I teach them. I have had much experience working with students with physical limitations, as well as those who are very advanced. While I do focus on technique and proper performance of steps, I also enjoy getting my students to perform and enjoy dancing. After 30 years of dancing and almost 20 years of teaching I still love what I do and can't wait to share that love with you!

About Stephanie
With 30 years of dance experience and almost 20 years teaching experience, I am excited to help you learn to dance! I have done many different forms of dance from Ballet and Modern dance to Ballroom, Latin, Hustle and West Coast Swing.

After getting my BFA in Dance Pedagogy I began to branch out into the world of partner dancing. After spending some time competing in International Latin, I eventually starting competing in Hustle. I became a champion Hustle dancer, eventually being undefeated in Just Hustle competitions. During my time in Hustle I was also performing in dinner shows with a troupe of dancers and we would travel to events around the country. I was also exposed to West Coast Swing at the time, and this became my next venture.

I have reached the All-Star level in West Coast Swing and have continued to travel to eve
nts to teach, judge, and compete in both West Coast Swing and Hustle. All this time I have continued to study and teach Ballet and Modern Dance as well as Jazz, Ballroom and Latin.

I have been teaching on my own since 2008 and have had students of all levels. My students have been successful in competitions as well as being very strong social dancers. I love to teach and find that while it can be difficult to learn to dance, we can also have fun while doing it!

I was based in the Philadelphia area for almost 15 years and earlier this year have moved to the Charlotte, NC area. I teach at a couple of studios in the Lake Norman and Charlotte area as well as being able to teach online or in the comfort of your home. I look forward to sharing my love of dance with you, no matter what kind of dance you would like to learn!
