Bagpipes Lessons in Greenbelt. Amazing Teachers.

My initial instruction follows the John Sprague school method, which focuses on precise articulation of ornamentation, leading into pipe band music.

Once a grounding in pipe band technique has been achieved, I can continue to work with students along the pipe band path through the intermediate level, or branch off into folk/kitchen piping, informed my extensive experience as a fiddler.

I am also willing to teach small pipe and border pipe students.

I make learning the bagpipes super fun! I use a really fun and fast approach to getting students up and playing in no time and more advanced players to the next level. For online lessons I use all of the latest technology including screen sharing, virtual snip and sketch and ink, lesson and practice follow up videos, and many other awesome tools to enhance the online experience. 26 years experience teaching beginner to professional level pipers.

I have competed and performed in several continents around the globe and have been coached by the best and most renowned bagpipers in Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. A teacher by trade, I have the tools you need to succeed with this instrument, whether you are just beginning or are an advanced player.

Our lessons will be encouraging, positive and productive but most importantly will layer in love and Fun! I am here to help you in a friendly manner as a classroom teacher for over 15 years. Achieve your goals from newbies to more seasoned pipers. Curriculum is individualized based on student’s musical interests. Students will learn proper technique and important musical concepts like reading notes, sight-reading and playing tunes before you know it. We work together and have fun along the way!
