My love for the piano started at the age of thirteen. I majored in Music Education at Frostburg State University, and studied piano under various professors. I have eleven years experience in teaching children and adults the piano. I hope to convey a love of music during lessons. Playing the piano shouldn't be stressful. It should be rewarding, relaxing, and fun.

About Jocelyn

I received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Frostburg State University. The piano was my main instrument of study. I have taught piano lessons to people of various ages. I believe that anyone can learn how to play the piano. Music is an experience that can help boost one's self

Jocelyn, has been working with my daughter for about a year. She is very patient and encouraging. The most important thing when I chose to use Takelessons.com was to ensure that those offering their services truly enjoyed their gift. Jocelyn has that gift and she is so enthusiastic about music!!! Highly recommend her for children as well as first time adults!!! Thanks

Michael is an engaged, easy to talk to, knowledgable, and thorough teacher. It seems like teaching comes naturally to him - he explains the full scope as well as the details of what you're learning so that you know why you're learning it. I'm looking forward to our future lessons!
Rory L.
Perfect first session. Michael adapted to Rory's deep understanding of music theory but total lack of knowledge of the bass. He was thoughtful, patient, and adaptive introducing the bass and providing practice suggestions to Rory. I recommend Michael in the highest terms as an instructor for beginners and knowing his vast education and experience in the bass I must assume this travels though the entire range of students - beginner to advanced. We look forward to the next lesson.

My first lesson with Michael was great! His teaching approach was relaxed and directive. I'm am looking forward future lessons with him.

Hi! I am currently study at Peabody of JHU. I love music, photography and cooking. I have 6 years violin teaching experience, age from 6 to 56. They are all become my friends now.
I was always trying to combine what I have studied and what I am gonna teaching in these years. I think teaching is not only teaching, but also a process of making yourself learn. Teaching also makes an artist more professional. Also, I speak both English and Mandarin (Chinese).

I have been taking lessons from Tim for both piano and voice for over a year. Tim is a fantastic instructor, combining both piano and voice in every lesson. I have many years of classical voice training, and continuing my training with Tim has been incredibly fun because he challenges me with new styles and techniques. I was self-taught on piano, and Tim has done a great job teaching me at my level of experience.

"She is a great voice teacher.

My daughter loves Jessie. Her voice has improved since she started taking lessons with her. I like the way she gives her a written note at the end of each lesson with reminders on technique or something my daughter needs to practice before her next lesson. She has also helped teach my daughter how to care for her voice and prepare for events. I highly recommend her!"

"At 67 years old I was a little nervous picking up a new instrument. I chose Edward and am glad that I did. He is patient and listens to each request that I make. He's teaching me in a way that is comfortable and to my liking. He goes the extra mile to teach me only songs that I wish to learn along with hints that make it easier. I couldn't ask for a better instructor and would highly recommend Edward. if you choose him, you will be glad that you did."

"Hayden has been teaching private Trombone lessons to my 13th year old son for over a year now. Hayden is organized and reliable; he is always on time, and has helped my son sound great. Hayden is passionate about Jazz, and knowledgeable. My son enjoys having a teacher that is as passionate as he is, and younger that the usual Trombone teachers we have found. :-)
Hayden has prepared my son for All State competitions, and for many concerts with his school and/or the jazz band my son performs outside of school. I recommend Hayden 100%!!!"

"Right Then!

I took bass lessons with Jeff in my formative years as a musician (as did many of my friends). He is the perfect teacher: Highly skilled, informative, patient, friendly, challenging and a lot of fun!

Jeff was more than willing to teach me things I wanted to know but more importantly, he set me straight on developing good technique, note and chord chart reading, understanding theory, ear training and improvising. He also turned me on to tons of great life changing music that was not yet on my young radar! He is a walking encyclopedia of musical knowledge.

Lastly, he has remained a friend throughout my whole life. I've even had the honor of playing many gigs with him, something I would have never imagined as a young beginner!

From beginners to advanced students, Jeff is your man.

Thank you for everything, Master Stetson!"

Mike bares all the marks of a GREAT teacher. He knew what I wanted before I even realized that's where I truly was heading. Not only have I gained what I am seeking, but he has brought me further than I even dreamed for myself. There's no better feeling than playing the way you've dreamed. On top of being a great teacher, he not only is a kind soul, funny, and a good listener but he truly cares about your growth and what you want to learn. He is hands down an amazing teacher."
