I am a school music teacher since 2003, a classical singer, a soprano, and a voice teacher as well. I have a keen interest in every aspect of the human voice, singing, vocal technique, vocal pedagogy and performance. My goal is to help my students to learn about different structures that affect their voice and help them to combine these structures in several ways. My students in this course get different sound qualities that they can use in their favorite repertoire. We learn new ideas, hints, performance issues and we do a lot of vocal exercises, and ear training.

I have been singing opera for 7 years now, and Christine had the most thorough teaching process by far! I found my real voice underneath all the conformity I had been taught through choir and am now moving through singing more powerful and with my "real voice." She is open to workshopping repertoire that you are interested in, and suggests things that will help you grow your voice while not pushing an agenda, so you feel as though you have lots of artistic freedom.
Also just a super warm and authentic person. Overall a great experience!

Christine is extremely talented and provided me with positive yet technical feedback each practice.

Christine is a Godsend! Prior to working with her, I studied classical voice and opera with several instructors. Christine is by far the best teacher and wish I had met her sooner!

As an accomplished singer herself, she is able to identify challenging areas and help improve technique. I’m now attempting pieces with confidence that I never would have attempted previously. And, I find the sessions very relaxing and enjoyable. She inspired me to push myself further and feel like I’m getting great results! Well worth the investment.

I teach from a very technical standpoint. Form and function, physicality, and basic science can teach you a lot about singing properly. My goal is to get the student to a point where they can teach themselves when they build their voice and the lesson becomes a weekly or monthly check in of the progress. As singers we want good results, but we have to focus on the process and the result will follow on its own correctly without forcing the result we want. This process of optimal sound and beautiful tone can take some time, but when the steps are taken correctly, the results become ideal.

About David

David W. has made numerous appearances across the country as an up-and-coming lyric tenor. Recent roles include Count Almaviva with "requisite Rossini high notes" (The Wall Street Journal) in Francesca Zambello's new production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia at The Glimmerglass Festival and Ernesto in

"Elizabeth is fantastic! In the first session, she was able to diagnose my singing problem (pain when I sing), and taught me a few exercises that fixed it immediately. I've only had a few lessons, and I'm already much better at singing. Thank you, Elizabeth! You're the best!"

"I had the opportunity to study classical voice with Holly for 3 years in high school. She was not only a phenomenal teacher, but also a wonderful life mentor and friend. Once a part of many voice groups as a child, I grew to love instrumental music and sacrificed my singing career for the flute. When I decided I wanted to come back to the world of vocal music, Holly helped me find my voice again and gave me confidence not only in my talent, but also in myself. She taught me great techniques on how to open up my voice and adapted her teaching style as my voice continued to grow. An overall incredibly understanding and patient person, Holly is the reason I was such a successful soprano. She genuinely cares for all her students and is solely interested in furthering their vocal careers. If I had the opportunity, I would gladly be a student of hers again, any day."
