My method is centered around having my students consistently learn new material, while retaining what they have learned. I’m sensitive to making sure they are challenged while also giving them material that will enable them to succeed. I customize each lesson to meet the needs and interests of each student. An example of a 45 minute lesson commonly includes the first 5 minutes being dedicated to checking in on how the practice went, and answering any questions the student may have about the material. Then there would be 15 minutes of review which would consist of finding which parts of the material are most challenging and finding the most effective way for the student to practice those parts and perfect the material. After that, there would be a three minute pause during which the student would listen to the new piece (whether it be material I introduced or material they suggested) so they can write down everything that they enjoyed and perceived about the new piece. Then there ...

I also called Edward when I was choreographing a play at MiraCosta College and needed a guitarist to create the music for the play and perform it live. He is extremely creative, a problem-solver, and team-player. I couldn't ask for a better person to do the job."
Ahmad has a well-thought-out curriculum that introduces music theory and chord concepts in a way that helps you understand what's happening musically while being able to apply it to actual songs. He has printouts and online videos to help you review if you forget something from class. He also gives you good strategies for practicing effectively. And finally, his excitement for music is infectious. One of the hardest things for me is staying motivated to practice, but that's a lot easier when I can see that I'm progressing toward being the guitarist I want to be with every lesson.
I've taken music lessons from a lot of different musicians in my lifetime (piano, violin, voice) and while they were all skilled musicians, none were as skilled of teachers as Ahmad. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll learn more faster taking lessons here than anywhere else."

I am probably one of Ed's more challenging students due to my hectic schedule which interferes with my practice time but we have covered a lot of ground studying basic techniques and styles such as Flamenco, Rumba, Bulerias, Sevillanas, and Tango. Ed is always prepared and is uncannily able to pick up our lessons exactly where we left off the week before. He is able to diagnose problems with technique and work with me to correct them and suggest practice methods to improve technique and the musicality of the performance. Fortunately I have many technical issues so Ed will be gainfully employed for some time on my account!
Ed performs regularly and has a large repertoire in popular music as well as flamenco guitar. I have seen him perform with a flamenco dance group and he was brilliant. I asked him to perform at a small event I helped organize and his performance was enjoyed by all. I highly recommend Ed as a flamenco guitar instructor or as a performer."
