Sign Language is an awesome form of visual communication! I love ASL and the deaf culture. I have years of experience and I'd be delighted to teach you. All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to your needs and goals. Not only will you be signing like a pro in no time, but you will be able to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing communities. Let's get started!

About Chanee
Hey There! I'm Chaneé. I am an American Sign Language tutor and professional Actress. Over the years I have taught ASL to many actors for specific roles and just great students who wanted to learn to communicate with the deaf. If you have friends or family that is deaf or dealing with hearing loss learning ASL is a great way to communicate and build stronger relationships. Maybe you want to become an interpreter or just learn a song for a church service or a role in a movie. Many parents use sign language or baby sign to communicate with their children. No matter the reason, I'm here to give you all the ASL you want to learn at your pace.

I studied ASL and Deaf Culture at Philadelphia College and the Philadelphia School of the Deaf while attending the University of the Arts for Theater Arts. On top of my overachieving college studies.
.LOL, I also have many deaf friends. I use ASL in my daily life and I'm always thrilled to share the culture and language with others. I am a very friendly person so expect a good time during your lesson. I can't wait to meet you!

I have tutored American Sign Language (ASL) during my time as a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and as a federal employee.

With my Deaf experience and experience with tutoring ASL, I can make tutees feel comfortable with talking in ASL and talking with Deaf people, Hard-of-Hearing people, and Deafblind people.

As for a book, I recommend “Basic Course in American Sign Language” authored by Tom Humphries.

About Thomas
I am born and have grown up Deaf. I regularly communicate in American Sign Language (ASL).

During my time at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), I weekly met a few students and helped them with their ASL courses. I signed words and sentences to these students when they asked me questions.

After I have graduated from RIT, I have worked at two federal agencies for three years. At one of these federal agencies, I have participated in ASL courses by one-on-one signing words and sentences to tutees and by having these tutees copy these words and sentences in ASL.

I can provide ASL lessons in the alphabet, common signs, visual description, classifiers, sentence structure, facial expression, body language, specialized signs, and ethical or professional relationships with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people. In addition these le
ssons, I can explain how signs and sentence structure form.

In my college career I spent years practicing and learning sign language. I took classes through level III, as well as in my professional theater career I was hired to be in a show that was mostly in sign language, so I had to study under an ASL master. I can teach anything from sign language that you can teach your baby, to level III. We can start the basics and work from there and see what your goals are. I also can't help tutor you if you take classes currently.

Sarah was fun and very easy to follow. She made sure that the signs that I completed were accurate and that if I had questions, she answered them very promptly and thoroughly. It was a very enjoyable session with Sarah. Hope to keep up with her and work on a good level of proficiency.

Excellent teacher! Sarah is patient, engaged, and organized. Right from the start, she tested my voice to see where we should begin. Nearing the end of the lesson Sarah left me with a bunch of helpful tips and techniques to practice developing my voice.
My second lesson was just as great but due to where I was I was a bit nervous to sing too loud. Sarah quickly adapted to the situation and we worked on vocal exercises and worked on a song we had been working on. Thank you, Sarah, you are the best teacher!^^

I studied ASL in college for a year with Deaf professors. After that I did my best to maintain the language by surrounding myself with Deaf friends or classmates, or online vlogs, etc. I offer between 25-30 ASL lessons which will help a complete novice cover all of the ASL beginner lessons and learn about Deaf history and culture. Once a student arrives there, I can then become a conversation partner.

About Joy
Want to learn to speak Spanish? Sign ASL? I would love to be a part of your journey!
As a current Spanish and ASL tutor, I am a patient, and friendly person, who is passionate about language learning! I have personal experience on what it takes to learn a second language, for I am a learned Spanish and ASL speaker. My teaching approach is personalized, fun, and focused. I can't wait to meet you, assess your language level, and get started with what will best help meet your goals!

I have a simple syllabus plan that involves: Vocabulary lists, practice sentences, fingerspelling words, reading material, video lesson reviews & easy quizzes.
If you're already taking ASL lessons and just need outside tutoring, I'm willing to adjust to the teacher's lessons and signs.

About Tracy
I'm Deaf and have been fluent in ASL for over 35 years. I also can speak and lipread well so there's no language barrier. I teach in a fun, casual style and am flexible in the lesson direction you would like to go.

I'm also legally blind so the only thing I request for our sessions is that you sit in a well-lit area without a window or light directly behind you. The brighter - the better. If I can't see you, I can't tell if you're signing well.

I manage and blog at my own website. I can't wait to meet and chat with you!

I am an experienced ASL teacher of 22 years. I have taught ASL to all ages and levels of hearing students and English Literacy to all ages and levels of Deaf students. With a BA degree in ASL/Linguistics and a MA degree in Deaf Education I am a dual-tutor.

Do you want to learn ASL? Here is what my classes look like. American Sign Language is a language expressed entirely through the body. It uses motion, space and non-manual signs (grammar on the face) to convey comprehensive meaning. It is not a written language. As such, my classes are primarily voice-off. We will communicate auditorily before and after the lesson and I encourage students to send me emails and videos with their weekly questions and confusions, but the real learning happens through voice-off lessons. I also teach BabySign using ASL.

Are you Deaf and looking for a Reading/Writing tutor? I’ve taught at Residential Schools, mainstream programs and designed and implemented my own curriculums for Deaf/HH children ...

About Cara
My experience tutoring ASL students began in 1994 when, ironically, I was one myself. As a Freshman at the University of Rochester, New York, I took an ASL class and fell in love with the language and culture. Consequently, I designed my own double major: ASL/Linguistics. The next four years were spent in immersion. The Deaf culture in Rochester provided me with an “abroad” opportunity without leaving the country. Once fluent I began tutoring college students, interpreting at the neighboring college (NTID) and often, was mistaken for one of the Deaf students. Post undergrad, I earned a Masters Degree in Deaf Education at Boston University so I could begin making our complicated language of reading and writing English accessible to young Deaf children. Over the course of my career I have taught ASL to all ages and levels of hearing student
s and English Literacy to all ages and levels of Deaf students. A love for children has recently led me to teach Baby/Toddler Sign classes using ASL.
