Private Music Theory Teacher

I have found that many people have been confused before my music theory books and lessons. I have had great luck using my approaches in making learning music theory fun and accessible. I also find that it is very helpful to not bite off everything at once. I specialize in contemporary music theory and also have an intermediate knowledge of classical theory. Students will learn the basics such as roman numerals for chords, all the way to advanced concepts such as chord scales, modulation and chord substitution. Terrible experience. I bought a package of 20 lessons for my 9yo nephew. He looked forward to it ever day from Xmas to the first week of January. Sam canceled the first lesson only 2hours prior its beginning. Then canceled the second lesson 10 minutes before he was supposed to be there because he “forgot” he had a “recording session today”. During the only lesson my nephew had, Sam didn’t show any ability to tailor a lesson to a child. Instead he gave him a pick, which dismayed me, and taught him a rock song we never heard of.
When I contacted the company they were very nice about it but I had to challenge their vetting process of teachers.

It was an excellent lesson! I really learned a lot from it. I was able to learn one song and start on a second on my first lesson only! Definitely recommend Sam to anyone thinking about picking up the guitar!

I am a beginner guitar player inspiring to become the next Eddie Hazel (Of Funkadelic fame for you unenlightened ones). I was referred to Jeremy by a former music teacher at Anne Arundel Community College. I was able to set up a weekly time with him at his house. He has a very clean and professional setting. I have been taking lessons under Jeremy's tutelage for a few months now. I have to say I am surprised at my own progress. My technical skills are blossoming but it's the music theory that is the real gift that Jeremy has given me. I always shrugged theory off thinking if I can hear it, I can play it. But now I am beginning to see the doors that music theory can open. Music is a vast universe and I have to give him credit for opening my ears, eyes, and mind to the possibilities of soooouuunds.
