First thing I do before first day of class is send out an enthusiastic email and call shortly after. Briefly discussing and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class.

Watercolor painting has a way of showing emotion and expression. The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop.

Students will be introduced to the color wheel, basic materials needed, perspective, and the differences between realistic and impressionistic painting techniques.

Materials are not included.

Watercolor painting lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals.

A working artist and experienced teacher of over 4 years, specializing in kids' development!

Drawing should be a way in which my students learn to take existing knowledge and express themself in a new and unique way. Having been a struggling artist myself, I also want to help my students navigate the art world and be successful!

A typical lesson with me will start with a general discussion about previous work/work done in their own time. Then we will work on the areas a student is struggling in, and or a new area of interest. I prefer to keep my lessons practice heavy.

About Camille

I am a painter from Taiwan, and recently moved to New York to work professionally in the art world! Having grown up in Hong Kong, I experienced a very rigid and regimented style of drawing and painting which allowed me to build a very strong foundation in my art, however, it was only until I move

"I took an online course with Julie last week. Her passion for her craft is truly evident in her teaching. The first part of the course she taught me how to use my extended flash and explained how to compensate for lighting.
In the second part of the lesson, Julie went over my best work and explained how to crop, take the picture better the first time, and how I could improve each shot. Her comments were extremely helpful.
I left the session knowing exactly what I had to do to improve my photograpy. I feel more motivated to be better.
I have taken her classes at SCC, and learned different types of photography such as motion shots, shooting fireworks at night, ocean photography and more.
Thank you Julie for your assistance."
