About Benjamin
I discovered music sifting through my Dad's record collection and soon decided that I wanted to play guitar. As a teenager I began taking lessons and building confidence in my abilities. I played in different types of bands ranging from rock, country, blues, and jazz. After completing College in 2004, I realized music was not just going to be a hobby, but a career. At age 37, I have been teaching and playing guitar professionally for the last 13 years. I believe that anybody can learn to play as long as they are patient and understand that anything worthwhile takes time and sustained effort to achieve. You also need a good teacher who understands how to take you where you want to go musically. I have taught hundreds of different students of all ages and abilities. I have seen many of them grow musically and gain confidence in other
areas of their lives as a result. I aim to inspire every student to find their way to a rewarding life through music.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lesson plans are developed on an individual basis. I want you to learn the music that inspires your passion. If the guitar is new to you, the first lessons are devoted to basic playing skills and techniques. It is important to develop a strong understanding of music fundamentals to ensure that the student is attaining the skills they need to be a complete musician. I emphasize technique with drills designed to raise my students' skills evenly across a wide range of categories, like picking, fretting, scale patterns, chord shapes, rhythm training, and ear training. I have had success with many students using this approach and most are playing songs within a couple months. For the more serious student, music theory is an important tool to understand songwriting and music in general. I am always open to discuss what we do during a lesson. I believe it is my job to balance what you want to do with what you need to do in order to succeed.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have amps, guitars, 1/4 inch cables, tuners, metronomes, paper and pens.
Would like students to have all these things but can accommodate based on need.

*** Specialties ***
Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, flat-picking, finger-style

I must say that Benjamin was great. I come from no musical background and had zero knowledge. Benjamin made me feel relaxed and broke down the sessions in an easy way so that I could understand the concept of what we were trying to accomplish. I look forward to future lessons and learning how to play the guitar

About Susan
Acting – I have taught all kinds of acting, including Audition Skills, Shakespeare, Stage, Film & TV, Dramatic, Comedic, whatever. I also have quite a bit of experience performing in all those arenas. I have a relationship with one of the best management agencies in the area, so my students get fast-tracked with her.

Voice – Anyone can sing. If you want to and have always thought you couldn't, you will be delighted when I prove you wrong. Training for the voice is pretty much the same, whatever style you are interested in. Then I'll coach you in your chosen style and we'll pick songs you like.

Singing beautifully is not enough. I can't tell you how many times I heard in grad school "beautiful voices are a dime a dozen." I will teach you how to OWN the song. That's what keeps people coming back.

Speaking – Every public spe
aker I know has lost their voice at some point, but not from talking too much. It's because they don't know how to use their voice properly. Learn that, and you need never lose your voice to over-use. That's easy to teach.

Writing – I have been a professional writer and editor for over eight years, with many books, articles, posts, newsletters, etc. to my name. I use – and teach – practical grammar, not just correct grammar. I can also help you make your words more powerful.

I've been taking lessons with Susan Scher for about two months now. I can easily say I've been impressed at how much I've improved. I look forward to lessons every week. I feel that soon enough I'll be able to audition for roles in film and television. If you live in the Baltimore area and are interested in voice acting or any acting in general. Contact her and go, you won't be disappointed.

I did not know what to expect when I signed up to take classes with Susan. I decided to take classes with her for two reasons: Her studio is not far from me and 2, the good reviews left by her clients. All I wanted was to learn the fundamentals and techniques about acting. Susan was excellent and very patient. She offered water in each lesson, which is also very kind. Her interpersonal connection brings a sense of comfort. Her studio is very neat and welcoming. I do not have regrets in my selections and I know you won't be disappointed too.

Mojy is BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER, very knowledgeable and passionate about the Persian Languages and teaching. She is very positive and wouldn't let you go to the next step before she makes sure you have learned what you need with fun and enthusiasm. She is very educated and learned about both Persian language and culture. She has a great understanding of the students' needs. Well, She is very pushy, but that is what we need to pass DLPT . I would not have GOTTEN 3/3+ if I would not have had Mojy for my teacher. Go Mojy! ;)

Mojy is by far the most qualified and talented language instructor I have ever had. After a week of class it was clear that she was an instructor that was on a completely different level than my instructors in the past. While under her instruction i vastly improved in every facet of my language, both in skill and in confidence. Her class room provides a relaxed but highly focused environment, and she genuinely cares about her student's success. If you give her your attention and effort then you will not be disappointment with the results.

After seven years' experience in Farsi I hit a proficiency plateau, but Mojy's customized and attentive instruction got my scores up to an ILR Level 3 in reading and 2+ in listening- my best scores ever! I can't recommend her highly enough. She knows what material works and how to explain complex grammatical concepts effectively. Best teacher ever!

Welcome :)

When I was young, I was a fairly shy child. When I was introduced to art, it helped me out of my shell and allowed me to blossom into the person I am today. As I grew, I've learned a wide variety ort mediums to help me express my emotions in different ways. Soon becoming advance in, drawing, painting, animation, realism, writing (spoken word, poetry, rap etc), and proficient in digital design and multimedia. By the time I was 13, I had begun my journey of giving back by helping others learn to express themselves through different forms of art. Holding classes at summer camps and various branches of libraries in the DMV Area.

I have been tutoring for about 10 - 12 years, since high school. I started with elementary reading and math and then moved into English, writing, reading, math, and history. I then professionally tutored to put myself through college. There I got nationally certified as a tutored and I specialize in English, Writing, and Language Arts. I served for a couple years as a teaching assistant as well. After I graduated, I went overseas to Kenya and taught math and English there as well. Now that I am back in the states, I have been tutoring a couple of students in English, Reading, and Math.
My approach is to help the student create habits that they can sustain to be successful and find what works for them. I am here to supplement the concepts that are already being taught, and in some cases, pick up objectives that teachers have neglected to t
each. I do more than just teach, I help students study, take tests, and understand how to navigate through school and classes, amidst of the many distractions - because honestly, that's one of the biggest factors.
