I recently start to learn Violin with Jonathan and learn a lot more than what I was expected! I was a little bit disappointed because I heard it's late to start violin in my age but since I start with Jonathan, he always been helpful and encourage me.

He's very knowledgeable and perfectly patient. He has the ability to listen and understand where I am in my learning curve and adjust his lessons to my skill level which I love about him.
Not only he knows his stuff and makes his teaching personal to your needs, but he also has a way to make you feel successful even when you are struggling. I always feel better about my playing when I leave his class.
What I like about his teaching style most; he hands you a key to learning more rapidly. I think this is the best kind of teach that you can find.

For these reasons I highly recommend him and I truly appreciate his time, patient, and knowledge.

I wish one day come to I play like him; clean, easy and professional :-) !

I began my training as a classical singer in high school, and I have spent the past decade training to be the best musician and classical musician as I possibly can be. I am a firm believer that a classical technique should be the basis of any kind of vocal training, whether or not a student's goals include singing classical music, because it is the healthiest, safest and most affective way of singing. With my experience as a singer and a vocal student and my knowledge of opera and art song, I absolutely love teaching classical voice!

About Delaney

Hi! I am a conservatory trained classical singer who has been performing professionally for nine years and teaching privately for six. I'm very comfortable teaching a wide variety of genres and tailor my teaching style entirely to a student's level of experience, goals, voice type, age and musical

Lane was an amazing instructor. She is easy to talk to, and listens to the student. I learned so much during my time with her. I was very disappointed when she had to leave the school. Lane is extremely knowledgable, and makes learning fun. I hope our singing paths cross again!

I have been playing piano since the age of six. Originally classically trained, I made a change to learning Jazz after hearing it on the radio one night while still in high school.

I began my teaching career in 2007, providing private piano instruction to beginners at a small, privately owned music school in Laurel, Maryland.

After the school closed it's doors in the Fall of 2011, I continued working with many of the students privately. It is these efforts I continue to this day.

Having the opportunity to work 1 on 1 with students and see their progression and development on a week to week basis is a truly, rewarding experience that I feel fortunate to be a part of.

*** Lesson Details ***
Although the approach you take with each student will be different, basic standard requirements will consist of:

2) Being able to recognize notes on the staffs and play them in the correct locations on the ...

Ian is a wonderful piano instructor. My 6 year old has been with Ian for some time now and I must say his patience is exceptional. He teaches in ways that my son can easily remember and makes the lesson fun. My son always looks forward to his piano lessons and he has learnt a lot in 2 months. I have had some experience with piano instructors but Ian is exceptional. I highly recommend him as an instructor to other children

"I’ve played clarinet for over 30 years, and was a clarinet major in college. I started studying with Mr. Rappaport after I was out of college for several years and had moved to Atlanta, where Mr. Rappaport was playing in the Atlanta Symphony. I found him to be the best teacher I had ever studied with. His ability to help me understand the musical phrase, no matter what style of music I was working on, was amazing. I studied standard clarinet etudes, orchestral literature, and clarinet solo repertoire with Mr. Rappaport. He had the same mild, yet persistent approach with me on everything we worked on – always working to get me to play it to the best of my ability.
One thing I had always feared having to play some day was the opening solo to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. A former teacher had been unable to help me with it. So, when a band I was playing with scheduled the piece and told me to get ready to play the solo, I was traumatized and contacted Mr. Rappaport for help. He worked with me and not only got me playing the opening glissando, but helped me to have a better understanding of the other jazzy spots in the piece. So now I can say I’ve performed that piece about 20 times, and the fear is gone! Thanks, Mr. Rappaport!
Regardless of your level of playing, I think you will find Mr. Rappaport to be an outstanding teacher!"

Pianist Spotlight: Billy Joel, The Modern-Day Piano Man

Sing us a song, you’re the piano man. Sing us a song tonight Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody And you’ve got us feelin’ alright If you’ve ever visited a piano bar, you may understand what Billy Joel is singing about in his legendary song, “Piano Man”. For a piano man, sheet music is not always part of the equation. Lounge patrons often call out the names of songs they would like to hear, and the pianist is expected to quickly comply and keep the patrons happy and in …
