I've been teaching ukulele for 4 years helping students develop a love for the instrument and learn more about music along the way. Ukulele is a great instrument for an introduction into stringed instruments and as a casual pastime, but when pursued seriously can be as rigorous as any other. Within the first few lessons you'll have a solid base of strumming patterns and chord changes and even a few simple songs under your belt. Moving on from there I will craft lessons to move you toward a "goal song," making sure to cater your progress to your needs while keeping a focus on good technique. I enjoy working with students of all ages and experiences and I can't wait to meet you!

It is my goal as a teacher to give you the tools to play music but more importantly to create music.
My Teaching Philosophy
The Uke is a wonderful instrument that any style of music can be played on. From pop hits of today to pop hits of the 1920's, classical, jazz and beyond.
We will start by learning all of our chords, strum patterns as well as basic melodies. Then progress into finger picking and "claw-hammer" style of uke playing.
Left Hand-
Scales and arpeggios our the bedrock of music. They are the foundation of everything harmonically and melodically. We will begin with learning our major, minor and pentatonic scales and corresponding arpeggios. Once we have an understanding of those we will delve into our modes and more “exotic” scales.
Right Hand-
The right hand is our time machine. It gives us the ability to play in time and with groove and feel. We will work on rhythmic studies string crossings and practicing with a metronome. Remembering music is ...

The Ukulele is such a fun instrument to play. It's a small instrument with a big sound. There is actually 4 different sizes you can choose from: Soprano, Concert, Tenor, and Baritone. The first 3 have the same string arrangement which is
G, C, E, A, and the Baritone is D, G, B, E, which is the same tuning as the first 4 strings on a guitar. Soprano is the smallest and the Baritone is the largest. If you want the true Hawaiian sound you need the Soprano. If you have really big hands or thick fingers you might want to go with the Concert or Tenor size so it will be easier to play.
They are very affordable instruments. The one I have is a Fender U Uke it was around 109.00. It's easier then guitar because you don't have to press down as hard on the strings.
Some of my favorite Ukulele players and bands that incorporate it are Jack Johnson, Brian May from Queen, Beach Boys, Elvis, Israel Iz, and many more.
I teach beginner to intermediate level for single and group lessons.

Are you a beginner, intermediate or advanced ukulele player interested in learning more chords, notes, strumming patterns, finger picking styles, music theory or how to read tab? Do you just want to get better at that ukulele you've had? Or learn your favorite song for fun?
I personally adore the ukulele, especially as a starter instrument! I've been playing uke for 7 years now, and it's the perfect accompaniment whether you're on stage or in your bedroom. It's easy to travel with, too, if you have a busy life and are always on the go, ukulele is easy to learn and get good at quickly (but you obviously still need to put the practice time in!!) I write a lot of songs on the ukulele & love the unique style and sound it has.
Whether you are planning on performing with it, using it as accompaniment to someone else/yourself, or just want to learn for fun as a hobby, I can teach you all you need to know to meet your ukulele goals! If you have any questions, please message me & let's ...

Learning to play an instrument is difficult enough, but what about trying to sing at the same time? It's really not as hard as it sounds! Here, teacher Willy M. takes you through the steps to play the ukulele while singing... It doesn’t matter what instrument I teach (piano, guitar, harmonica, drums, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and voice), every student I ever have, with the exception of those playing harmonica, asks, “How do I sing and play my instrument at the same time?” The uk …
