We believe strongly that learning should be fun. We work hard to ensure an enjoyable learning experience. In making sure that students enjoy what they are learning, we add value to the skills that are taught, by fostering a true appreciation for the joy music can bring.

The best way to learn the guitar is by learning the songs you love. As a beginner, we will start by learning the foundation to guitar playing such as hand placement and picking techniques. We will quickly jump into playing simple chords and scales, and learning the theory behind them. Before you know it, we will be playing your favorite songs and how to play solos over them.

I teach you to be a musician, not just an instrumentalist. There is a huge difference. I give you material to learn while doing my best to make it fun as well. I teach you the basics and build on that foundation. You can learn the material as fast or as slow as you want. However, it is not a canned approach because every student is unique and your learning styles reflect that. My goal is your success, truly!

I've been playing guitar, composing multi-instrumental music, producing music, playing in professional and local bands, and have been an active studio session player for 17 years.
I have been teaching guitar for just as long, and helped many students understand break-through concepts and acquire skills that other teachers were unable to.
I have taught total and complete beginners to play their favorite song after 2 weeks, with 1 hour per day practice time. I taught my best friend and my brother to play guitar, both are now in professional touring bands.

I teach rock, folk, and jazz guitar to beginner and intermediate players. In addition to teaching, I am a singer, songwriter, and performer. I have a passion for teaching, and find no greater happiness than helping people discover the joy of music. All of my instruction is tailored to the desires and goals of the individual student.
