My love for the piano started at the age of thirteen. I majored in Music Education at Frostburg State University, and studied piano under various professors. I have eleven years experience in teaching children and adults the piano. I hope to convey a love of music during lessons. Playing the piano shouldn't be stressful. It should be rewarding, relaxing, and fun.
About Jocelyn
I received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Frostburg State University. The piano was my main instrument of study. I have taught piano lessons to people of various ages. I believe that anyone can learn how to play the piano. Music is an experience that can help boost one's self

I can teach you to play piano in a mindful, body-conscious way (which I find more relaxing and fulfilling). My specialties include any/all of the following: beginner/intermediate piano (any style, including classical and pop/jazz), teaching music reading/theory, learning to playing by ear/with chords, accompanying oneself while singing, learning to arrange/write music and working with individual/special needs.
Though I am not a concert pianist/accompanist by trade, I have 16 years of piano teaching experience, and have worked steadily as a singer-songwriter and in pop, rock and variety bands (as a keyboard player).
About Jennifer
I am a professional singer-songwriter and have been teaching lessons fulltime for the last 12 years. I teach students of all ages and levels of experience. My current range of students include: kids with learning/developmental disabilities, teenagers who have starred in school musicals, and perf

I have been teaching piano for around 10 years, both in a private and school setting, and love to conquer new challenges and goals with my students. It's important to have a firm foundation, so in the first few lessons you will learn a whole new language! You will learn to read music, to recognize notes, simple rhythm, and start to play your first pieces. If you are not a beginner, the first lesson will consist of evaluating your current level and goals in order to move forward smoothly and quickly. I believe people should love what they play, so let me know your favorite songs! I want to help you reach your full potential, therefore I expect my students to be on time, ready to work, and be prepared. I have experience working with all levels, and can't wait to help you grow!
Curriculum:
Dozen A Day- I love this book series. It gives short exercises which progress in difficulty for students to complete every day at the beginning of practice sessions as a warm up, and sight ...

Katie is a fun, light-hearted, joyous piano teacher. My lessons are 100% pure fun! She challenges me while inspiring me at the same time. She has taught me to play basic and simple pieces with amazing drama and interest. Her expertise shines through in each lesson I take. I contribute my progress to her showing me how to practice. Measures that would take me days at home take me ten minutes with her! Katie is definitely a rare gem. I feel privileged to have such a talented teacher.
She would be a rare teacher in her area with a mixing of Russian musical heritage and European teaching.
In spite of her young age she already has had several years of teaching experience and her students have made very good progress.
I would highly recommend her to students of all ages. She will make the best choice of repertoire, build technical skills and develop the musicianship that is necessary for making a difference for a lifetime love of the musical arts.
I have full confidence in her skills. I have love and respect for her and I am sure you will too.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

My 10 year old daughter started taking piano lessons in the Summer, she is now on her 28th lesson.
The curriculum Maureen has chosen for a beginning pianist has been a wonderful musical journey & very easy for my daughter to follow, along w/her lesson Maureen is also having her learn technics, theory & other music fundamentals to enhance her music skills, my daughter has learned alot already.
We've had to change our schedules on several occassions & she has been wonderful and quite flexible in both teaching music and rescheduling appointments.
She has been a great support to me as a mom who is new to this art & who is learning the disciplines that come along with it.
I trust that what my child is learning from Maureen will hold a lot of substance in her future & I am very satisfied with with the results I'm seeing.
I'm glad to have my daughter continue with these lessons & to watch her evolve as Maureen's student."

As you're learning how to read music on the piano, you'll come across a lot of different words and terms that will seem like a foreign language. And that's because... they are! Most sheet music terms you'll see are Italian, or have Italian roots, while others are taken from French, German, Latin, or Spanish. But don't worry -- you don't need to learn how to speak Italian fluently to be a good piano player. There are many piano terms and symbols, but the 14 listed in the infographic below are …
