Playing music is one thing, performing music is a whole different ballgame. You could be a technically gifted musician, but not be able to translate that into performing in front of others. I have performed many different kinds of music, with several bands as well as solo, in many different environments. Performance is not an exact science, but there are many things I could teach you to become more comfortable, professional, and effective as a performer and entertainer.

About Jason

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. I was blessed to have a great instructor who motivated me and provided me with a great foundation to build upon. I would like to be able to pay it forward and do the same for you. I studied music at UMBC, and I received certifications in audio producti

I am classically trained teacher and i think that classical music is the basement for any kind of music. I also would like to teach you some jazz or to play your favorite songs as you wish.
I adjust to my students' needs and goals. Every student is unique and so my point is to teach anyone in according to one's ability. I assess my student's ability during the first lesson and spend time discussing what the goals shall be for the next 5 lessons. Then I pick exercises and music pieces, and design a practice plan for my student that will help him or her reach their goals.
I teach my students to practice musically all the time, I build and develop your technique, and deep understanding of music.

Patient and passionate

My 7-year-old daughter has been taking weekly lessons with Elena for a few months. It's her/our first piano teacher, so I don't have much basis for comparison, but we, and our daughter are very happy. Elena has a patient, gentle and genuine manner. She is very focused and attentive in her attention to the student, and my daughter seems to be learning quickly and looks forward to class. We're glad we found her.

Keanon is a GREAT teacher/artist/musician/mentor

I've been working with Keanon for almost a year now. Aside from being an amazing vocalist himself, he does everything he can to help students reach their full potential and find their voice. He makes lessons fun while constantly keeping you challenged. There's always encouragement from him to strive to be better, which can really bring the best out of singers. Whether you're simply singing for hobby, performing for shows/auditions, or ready to record, Keanon has something to offer to any aspiring musician. He has a passion and love for music and understands it's a gift that must be shared with the world.

First thing I do before first day of class is send out a welcoming greeting via email and call a few days before first lesson. We Briefly discuss and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class. Music lessons include: warm ups, exercises, technical and theory work, solfeggio (sight-singing), ear training, repertoire musical coaching, composition writing, preparation for performances and more.

"Hallie's dedication and passion is second to none. I had the honor to see her at Sewanee conducting a symphony performing a piece that she composed. In order to put that production together, she had to conceive of the piece, write the parts for each performer, and teach all the musicians how it should sound through rehearsal. It was amazing. That same weekend, she was the soloist performer for a flute concerto and you could see that she really knows her stuff! Her ability to communicate her vast musical knowledge is what makes her a fabulous teacher. I highly recommend Hallie for your music lessons."

"Buzz is an excellent teacher and brings real world music experience into his instruction. As a touring musician, producer, song writer, and arranger, Buzz has an understanding of practical application. When I perform, I am always looking for ways to play smarter, and Buzz always helps with that. Buzz will break down music theory in a way that makes sense and that I can apply to my own playing on gigs and in rehearsal sessions. Buzz is a tremendous teacher for beginners (I have watched him give lessons to young students and he is excellent) , but if you are an experienced player and are just looking to get better, working with Buzz will get you there. I promise you'll play better after one lesson."

"I have played music with Abby for over 30 years. She is enthusiastic about her musical ideas for a performance;she is hard working before and during rehearsals; she enjoys people and interacts with them in a friendly and concerned manner. I have heard some of her music students perform and observe that she has imparted these skills to her students based on the performances I heard. I highly recommend her for any teaching position she aspired to as I believe she would carry these attributes into any teaching situation she encountered."
