Hello! A little about me... I have a Bachelors Degree in Music, 15 years of performing experience, and 10 years of teaching experience. I would love to share what I've learned to help you find your authentic sound. I try to approach each student individually vs treating everyone the same, catering to learning styles and willingness to learn. I hope to see you soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
I think everyone is born with the capacity to sing, with their own unique voice. I think often times we "get in our own way" and hold ourselves back from truly realizing our potential. I would love to help find your true voice so that you can do anything you want, whether it's singing in the shower or in front of thousands of adoring fans at Carnegie Hall!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Practice rooms with upright pianos.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If t
here is no piano, we can work from the mp3 player or a cd player and make it work!

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Jazz voice, improvisation (scatting) and Broadway singing. I am also trained in Acting.

Acting since age 8. Lead and supporting roles, chorus, and improv.

About Detrece
DeTrece "Dee" Lavender is a native of Miami, Florida. When her family moved to Sarasota, she was afforded the opportunity to study music and the performing arts as a student of the Westcoast School/Henry L. Porter School of Music. It was then that Dee began to understand the power of the creative arts as an effective form of emotional expression and release. By middle school, DeTrece began fine tuning her natural talents by studying classical voice which earned her several starring roles in the Sarasota Youth Opera, The Aslo Theater and the Players Theater. She is also a proud former member of the Westcoast Black Theater Troop in Sarasota, FL. Under the caring leadership of these opportunities, she was able to combine musical and life experiences in order to offer a more well rounded educational and musical experience for her students.

She was awarded a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she received a dual Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy and Vocal Performance (Class of 2003). It was through her service as a music therapist, Millieu (residential) counselor and music teacher in the Boston City Public Schools/Greater Boston Metropolitan Area, that she began to feel the call toward a greater understanding of the gravity and role of the socio-emotional needs of students (and their families/villages) in urban settings. This call brought her to Baltimore, MD where she enrolled in the Pastoral Counseling Masters of Science program at Loyola University. In addition to her studies, she currently teaches Elementary and Middle School choir/ Musicianship teacher in the Baltimore City Public Schools through the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's OrchKids Program. She also serves as Minister Of Music and Arts at two local churches.

Maybe you're curious about acting. Maybe you're very good and very serious. Maybe you just need to come out of your shell a little bit. I've taught 'em all, with great success. I look forward to meeting you.

About Susan
Acting – I have taught all kinds of acting, including Audition Skills, Shakespeare, Stage, Film & TV, Dramatic, Comedic, whatever. I also have quite a bit of experience performing in all those arenas. I have a relationship with one of the best management agencies in the area, so my students get fast-tracked with her.

Voice – Anyone can sing. If you want to and have always thought you couldn't, you will be delighted when I prove you wrong. Training for the voice is pretty much the same, whatever style you are interested in. Then I'll coach you in your chosen style and we'll pick songs you like.

Singing beautifully is not enough. I can't tell you how many times I heard in grad school "beautiful voices are a dime a dozen." I will teach you how to OWN the song. That's what keeps people coming back.

Speaking – Every public spe
aker I know has lost their voice at some point, but not from talking too much. It's because they don't know how to use their voice properly. Learn that, and you need never lose your voice to over-use. That's easy to teach.

Writing – I have been a professional writer and editor for over eight years, with many books, articles, posts, newsletters, etc. to my name. I use – and teach – practical grammar, not just correct grammar. I can also help you make your words more powerful.

I feel that soon enough I'll be able to audition for roles in film and television. If you live in the Baltimore area and are interested in voice acting or any acting in general. Contact her and go, you won't be disappointed.

I did not know what to expect when I signed up to take classes with Susan. I decided to take classes with her for two reasons: Her studio is not far from me and 2, the good reviews left by her clients. All I wanted was to learn the fundamentals and techniques about acting. Susan was excellent and very patient. She offered water in each lesson, which is also very kind. Her interpersonal connection brings a sense of comfort. Her studio is very neat and welcoming. I do not have regrets in my selections and I know you won't be disappointed too.

Michelle Seabreeze is a phenomenal Teacher and most importantly great person. Her classes and teaching styles are fun with her hilarious and peppy personality. she taught me the different elements of hip which are: Breaking, Popping, Locking, House, And Straight Hip Hop. If your having trouble picking up a movement she uses a funny technique called super slow motion. Seabreeze creates a safe, fun, and comfortable environment to learn in.

I took Michelle's Hip Hop classes and i was amazed by her energy and how friendly she was. She taught me several style of Hip Hop as in Break Dancing, Popping, Locking, Isolations, House, Old School, Vougue etc etc. She is an amazing woman with many talents and personalities (but in a great way). I learned so much from her and trust me i will be taking future classes from her to learn even more. There was never a dole moment in her classes from beginning ( the stretch and warm ups) to the end (freestyle groove if we were lucky enough). I give her classes five stars because of how much fun i had and how much i've learned. Keep up the great work Michelle!

It was my daughter's first contact with professional acting.
She has been talking about being an actress for quite a while now, so we decided to let her take a few lessons to see if she likes it.
Ollie was really comprehensive of our needs and made us see the big picture of that world... just what we needed, to start walking into that direction on the right path.
My daughter had a wonderful time with Ollie.

My daughter had no acting experience, she was shy, and soft spoken but in just 4 short days, Ms. Ollie turned her into a confident, outspoken young actress. My daughter nailed her audition thanks to Ollie!! I will highly recommend her as your acting coach.

I have taught and directed for 30 years in NY and DC. From lesson 1, students engage with a dynamic approach to acting through Meisner-based improv. During the 1st 12 weeks, we go from basic truthful acting to dynamic scene work, followed by 12 weeks of in-depth scene study, then extensive character training and in-depth film and audition technique. My students are successful in film, theater, commercials and TV in DC, NY and LA.

About Robert
I have taught acting for over 30 years based in the Meisner Technique, and I write and direct my own plays and films. I have years of experience as an actor, jazz saxophone player, singer and poet, as well as a philosophy degree, which I bring to my understanding of acting. I use this rich background to focus on the creativity, intelligence and improvisational abilities of each student in their acting process. I know what it takes to walk into any acting situation ready to play the role. My goal is to create actors who enjoy their work and can act skillfully in film, theater, tv and auditions. I emphasize character work in the program, an important and often neglected part of the acting process. I have cast my advanced students in my original projects in the DC area, and most recently directed my original play, "The Big A: Scenes fro
m a Vanishing Landscape" for the 2014 DC Fringe Festival. I have directed two films: "Adams Morgan: The Movie," which premiered at the Avalon Theater in 2010 and was selected and shown as part of the East of the River Festival in DC; and a short film from my original screenplay titled "Crazy" which is currently in the editing phase. My student Mack Leamon is currently appearing in the Arena Stage production of "Raisin in the Sun" and I am very proud of his accomplishment!

Gregory is a fantastic acting coach and all around awesome person. Our son (age 11) has been working with him and has learned such great techniques that he can take with him to every audition. Greg doesn't stick to one teaching method, he adapts to what our son needs and uses language that is helpful for him. Took my first performance class with Gregory (after decades away), a Hamlet Scene Study. Class was a nice size (14 people), diverse in age and previous experience, several of them were returning to Gregory's class for a second time, and it was just fantastic. Several of the folks had done some professional work, some were plotting an escape from a current non-theatre career into acting, quite a few were active participants in community theatre here in DC, and some were just passionate about The Bard, reading and analyzing the text, and deepening their understanding of the work. I marveled at how well he addressed all his students, meeting them at their level, whatever that was. He created a very welcoming environment, lots of humor, lots of physicality, open-mindedness, and it was just fascinating to see each scene study pairing, no matter what their level, improve their performance of the scene after some direction and creative input from Gregory, as well as the other students. Highly recommend. I plan to take his class again as soon as convenient, and maybe other classes as well.

I have had several lessons with Jennie Bissell in my home. I often give lectures in academic settings, and I was hoping to improve the quality and fluency of my speech to a level equivalent to top public speakers. Working with Jennie, I made improvements beyond what I could have expected. We worked on a variety of breathing and relaxation techniques used by professional actors. By focusing on producing speech "on voice" the quality and ease of understanding of my speaking increased substantially with immediate benefits. I highly, highly recommend her services for anyone interested in improving their public speaking skills.

What makes Jennie's approach unique is that she shares the techniques she has learned as an actor - to help you be more relaxed and natural in your delivery, to improve the quality and resonance of your voice, and to make the way you deliver your lines more interesting and effective.

About Michael
Hi friends,

It is nice to meet you! I am 'Emmy Nominated' actor and twenty five year veteran actor on the longest running show in broadcast history The Guiding Light. In addition, I was a three time nominee for best actor for the Soap Opera Digest Awards. I was fortunate to study acting from the legendary acting teacher Stella Adler and Larry Moss. I'm also a student and performer from the highly acclaimed Improv group 'The Groundlings'.

I've been fortunate to be a working actor most of my life. My credits include the recurring role of Dr. Stewart Farmingham on the popular ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D.and Paul in It's a Small World, part of an anthology series produced by David Lynch for HBO and Lead featured roles in Law and Order. I have booked numerous lead roles in feature films and off-Broadway and in national television commer
cials. My American Express commercial won the ESPY award for best commercial of the year.

In the fall of 2010, I started Studio 47 Productions to be a leader to effective branding with original content for web streaming. I soon partnered with ConvergTV's, The Venture Channel. I was proud to announce distribution of my award winning comedy soap spoof, Steamboat now available on Roku and NetTalk.

My first play as a playwright, 'Breathing Under Dirt' was recently awarded ''Best Play' at the Manhattan Repertory One Act Festival in March.' Breathing Under Dirt' has since been expanded to a full length play and launched its world Premier at the Ella Fitzgerald Theater in Maryland to rave reviews. ' Breathing Under Dirt' is now getting Broadway consideration with the highly acclaimed director Larry Moss at the helm. I have just completed my second play 'Red Rain' which explores the themes of war and peace that collide within a family during the Vietnam War.' Red Rain' is currently being work shopped in NYC for a production launch in early 2020.

Enough about me! I am on this site as my true passion is building successful acting careers. Just so you know, I am a nuts and bolt guy. There is a clear road map to increase your chances of success that I will give you. The fact is casting directors have made a DECISION about you before you even open your mouth. I will empower your' actor’s ego' so that you will own any room you walk in.
I want to learn about you and your goals. Let's start! Just want to wish you success on your journey.

Kind regards,
