About Kim
For creative people and makers, crafting is like going to the gym. You will find great fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment if you set aside time on a regular basis to nurture this very important part of what makes you who you are. Think of me like a personal trainer. I will encourage and inspire you while you develop your skills and express yourself through a variety of textile based media.

My focus is on providing an entertaining, relaxing and enjoyable experience as you learn a leisure time activity. I am extremely patient and detail oriented. nd out why my students love me.

Teaching is a wonderful extension of my work as a professional crochet and knit designer and technical editor. A web search will reveal some of my published work over the last decade. As a craft teacher in the NYC area for over 8 years, I have worked with individuals, groups and classes of all ages and skill levels. Most of my experience focuses on working with older adults and people with special needs. Minors must have a supervising adult present. I do not work with groups of young children.

I have studied the history and mastered the skills to make and teach a vast variety of textile techniques. Please see my experience.

If you are using this site without the assistance of a TL Rep, I recommend the schedule as you go option. I often have openings in my calendar sooner than the site allows. After we make contact, we can choose the best date and time.

I have been crocheting for some time now, and have done many different types of projects. I also sell scarves/hats online. I can help you with the basics of crochet to get you started on your crocheting adventures.

About Brianna
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!

History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.

Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!

Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

Individual or group lessons are offered in our shop or your requested location. Prefer "G" or "J" size hook for beginners. You will also need to supply a starter skein or yarn (your choice) for your beginners lesson or project.

I'm used to individual or group lessons and most beginner lesson projects requested is a simple scarf.

I love teaching crochet to others. It is the one fiber art that fun and produces fast results!

About Cindy
I'm multi-media artist who offers various pottery, painting, fiber art (fiber processing, various types of felting, natural dyeing, yarn making, rug making, sewing, crocheting, knitting) jewelry, candles, and soap making and canning workshops in my art studio. We also have an onsite mini farm with llamas, alpacas, sheep and peacocks. We shear our animals annually and use our processed fiber in our workshops. Students learn the ancient traditions of naturally dyeing fiber with local plants and how to spin into art yarn with spindles.

Over a span of ten years of teaching music lessons, Cosette was one of my fastest-learning students. Cosette strives to do her very best in every piece she performs and this was evident. Cosette not only would come to lessons prepared; but also because she was always willing to try a new type of dynamic or articulation, or to think of a musical phrase in a new way that would make the passage stronger or more musical. This approach brought her to a high level of playing, quickly.

In addition to her assigned material, Cosette would often work on additional pieces for church, other functions, or just for enjoyment, and bring them to the lesson. I always like it when my students bring extra music like this to the lesson; it shows initiative and involvement with others around them. Cosette definitely enjoyed collaborating musically with her family and friends.

In my opinion, once study and learning has taken place, it is a musician’s duty to look beyond the mechanics and to serve others with their talent - which is something Cosette is already doing.

Starting chains, stitch height and the importance of stitch count are also taught. Students will learn a variety of stitches including the slip stitch, single, half double, double, treble, "X" stitch, front-and back-post stitches, and how to combine them for interest and texture. They will be proud to show off their first project!

About Cheryl
Crochet is my passion and God-given talent and I love to share what I learn with others! I've been crocheting off and on since age 10 via books, dedicated teachers, YouTube, crochet magazines, and online communities including Ravelry, Pinterest, crochet blogs, yarn company websites to name a few. I love trolling for online patterns, can interpret the unique crochet "language" and have literally binders full of crochet patterns I've saved over the years.

Friends and family know what to to expect from me as gifts--handmade crochet items. They have encouraged me to sell my creations...

I've been teaching for almost 10 years, offering private and group lessons up to five students. Also, I am a current member of the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) since 2009.

Lessons are designed for folks who have never picked up a crochet hook or w
ho want to refresh their skills or learn new ones. Lessons are available online, at your home or my studio.

I am a working knitwear designer here in Brooklyn, specializing in sustainable, and ethical handmade knitwear and homegoods. Along with running my own company, I specialize in teaching beginning/intermediate crochet students! All ages are welcome! My lessons are customized and catered to the needs and goals of each student. Not only will you be crocheting like an experienced champion, but you will be building a strong foundation for crocheting that can be applied to the numerous stitches and technique I will help you master while we work together and via homework projects. About Rachael
I am a knitwear designer living in working in Brooklyn, NY. I run my own sustainable knitwear and homegoods brand right here in Brooklyn! I graduated from Vassar College and went on to receive my MA both the Glasgow School of Art and The University for the Arts in London, UK in 2005.

I studied fine art and photography during college, but incorporated my love of fiber arts into my work since I was a very young child. I first learned to crochet when I was 10 years old! I was a practicing photographer in the world of music and conceptual portraiture for years before switching over to starting my knitwear brand in 2009. My company are venture fellows at the Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator, a hub for sustainable fashion, and is a proud member of the Ethical Fashion Forum's Fellowship 500 as a leader in a diverse group of brands
and manufacturers committed to sustainable production. We work with local hand-knitters here in Brooklyn, as well as artisans and artisan-owned workshops in Peru, Bolivia and Uruguay specializing in alpaca and merino knitting, as well as with local yarn spinners and weavers.

My company has been featured in Elle, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Real Simple, Women’s Health, Seventeen, Self Magazine, Lou Lou, & Time Out print publications and online at Chictopia, Ok Magazine, Refinery 29, Runway Hippie & Daily Candy to name a few. Our collections have been sold everywhere from Barney's Tokyo, American Rag CIE, ASOS and Henri Bendel in NYC.

My personal passion is knitwear and crocheting, but I firmly believe I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any fiber art. I'm very personable and excited to teach people of all ages this functional, creative skill in a fun, laid back environment! I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better crocheter and designer!
