Experienced music teacher with nearly 10 years experience teaching students of all ages and abilities from beginner to advanced. I also have experience teaching music to students with special needs, including autism and total vision impairment. I begin accepting students at age 4 and teach students up to age 99+. With lessons from me, you'll learn to read music, develop your ear for hearing music (ear training), music theory, and technique with a goal of getting you playing your favorite style of music in the quickest time possible. I can teach you to play whatever style you wish. I can even help you learn to compose your own music! To accomplish that, I use a variety of learning aids and games to assist you in learning to read music and understand the deeper concepts of music theory. I incorporate the use of rhythm and percussion instruments to help you learn and understand the more complicated rhythms of music. I have been teaching private piano lessons for five years, and I love working with children of all ages and skill levels. I have been playing the piano for 17 years, and began at a very young age. Because of this, I strongly believe that if there is a desire to learn, the age you start does not matter. I work well with both beginner level students and intermediate level students. I was taught using the Suzuki method, and I use parts of that method in my own teaching. I also incorporate basic music theory lessons into my teaching.

About Abigail

I'm currently a student at Eastman School of Music, majoring in Piano Performance. I began taking piano lessons when I was two years old and loved every minute of it. I enjoy working with children of all ages, and strongly believe that if there is a desire to learn, the age at which you begin does n

Or lacking the freedom to play any song you want just by ear and in any style, whether pop, jazz, or classical? Wish you could improvise freely in any style, compose and arrange for piano and other instruments?

These are the things I specialize in, I've spent years playing professionally and composing and even producing in all these styles, whether classical, jazz, or popular and contemporary music. I've come up with a unique teaching formula that works for all ages and skill levels, and have a lot of experience teaching dozens of students in a step by step proven method that works. I condense the information you need to know of music theory, technique, style etc. in a quick easy to learn fashion with the right exercises to go along with them. Complete musical freedom!

Whether you are looking for a great teacher to get your kids started playing ...

Daine has been teaching piano to my 8 yr old grandson for 2 months. He provides materials, a little homework and is always available for questions. He responded immediately to my inquiry and has always shown up on time. I would recommend him to anyone!
Nannette
Daine is an outstanding piano instructor. His friendly yet focused lessons have dramatically increased my son's interest in piano. His lessons have reinforced the basics while also covering music theory and expression. This has taken my son's performance ability and understanding of piano to the next level. Daine is also courteous, and always on time.
Tara
Daine is an excellent teacher that moves at a quick pace. In our family he teaches three different levels: An adult beginning learner, a self-taught teenager who needs to learn technique and music reading, and a 7 year old beginner. He adjusts the level of lesson to match each of us and does a great job. He is always on time and has a bunch of cool resources for us. He also explains "why" we are doing the things we're doing, which I find helpful.

My experience with Kathy has been great. It's been roughly five months and I learned a lot and I'm also much more confident to sing. Learning the right techniques is crucial. Kathy is extremely patient and she adapts the classes to the student goals and aspirations. English is not my first language and she was also always very respectful and patient in explaining everything twice or maybe three times until I get it.

Kathryn has a terrific demeanor, and provides clear, thoughtful suggestions for technique!

Terrible. Only taught 30 minutes out of 60 minute sessions. On the 3 session I mentioned it and he said he didn’t think my son needed more than that even though we paid for it. Was so disrespectful!!!! Never again!!! Highly unprofessional when asked about why he cut the lessons short. Please don’t leave your kids with this instructor work paying attention. He will get over on you if he thinks you’re not involved.
